Tang Moyu shot her best friend with a fierce glare. Why did Li Meili turn the attention to her? What did it have to do with her anyway? 

"What? Isn't that what you did after waking up on his bed? Run away even before you were able to see each other?" Li Meili laughed at Tang Moyu's annoyance, while Lin Qianrou gasped and covered her mouth with one hand. 

"Meili…" She uttered, glancing at the empress's face half, expecting to see Tang Moyu being angry, but she wasn't. 

Tang Moyu took a deep breath and sighed. 

"It's alright, Qian. I guess we could say that it's been a running joke between me and Meili for ages, and yes, I did run away from Xiao Bao and Little Star's father that day because I didn't want to know who he was." 

Li Meili scoffed at that and popped in the other half of the cookie in her mouth. The cookies Qin Jiran baked for them were so much better than the store bought ones.
