I come back to find them waiting for me with expectant expressions.

They didn't need to ask questions for me to plunge right into a narrative, we were all we had now after all, keeping secrets from each other would help none of us.

"September is gone." I say bluntly, deciding to start off with the least terrible news.

It was a cruel joke that September just up and ghosting was the better news.

Arianna and Cameron both have identical looks of shock and horror on their faces, looking at each other.

"W-What do you mean?" Arianna stuttered.

I take a deep breath, heavy with all my woes. "My grandma tried to talk to her and found her gone without a trace."

"Fucking hell." Cam mutters under his breath, his hands seeking Arianna's hand.

"My sentiments exactly but that's not even the worst piece of news…" I trail off.
