"No!" his voice was much louder than he intended it to be. He immediately realized, and cleared his throat, "What I mean to say is, I believe I like you more than just our intended bond."

"You believe you like me?" Lexine raised her brow slightly. "That does not seem very promising."

Taevlin was left slightly tongue tied, as he realized that he was digging a deeper pit for himself.

His hand raised slightly, and he rubbed his forehead. His hair slipped through his fingers, and Lexine found herself looking at the silver locks. "I feel like I might be making this conversation go in an awful direction."
