"Mother decided it would be best for her health to be with you, Grandfather."

Cailina said as she flashed a warm smile at the man that raised her mother. She waited for a response but was met with a defeated exhale from her grandfather.

Her head tilted slightly to the side, "Is there something the matter?"

The aroma of the tea floated in the air, making Cailina somewhat at ease. She pursed her lips while her grandfather tapped his fingers as his mind raced with his thoughts.

Lord Mausé glanced at his granddaughter as she had grown into a lady he almost mistook for his daughter. He knew about the Duke's passing and without his presence, Amelia would have a difficult time living on her own.

It would be a burden to care for a mother that wouldn't care for herself. He nodded as he came to a conclusion. It was best to have his daughter by his side. His thin lips formed in a smile.
