Chapter 123: Weakling

The sudden roar of an unknown beast scared the prey that Edward was hunting. He turned his attention towards the direction of the roar.

Maximus widened his eyes, baffled that the forest sheltered such a terrifying beast. He glanced at his older brother with a confused look, and he saw Edward with a smirk on his lips. The latter saw it as an opportunity…

Without a second to waste, Edward kicked his horse in a haste. Maximus followed behind his speeding brother towards the unexplored part of the forest. He didn't dare ask and rode in silence.

Now, in front of Maximus was a beast with fur as black as the night. Its horns sprouted in many directions. His gaze landed on the other side of the bank and saw the destruction that the beast left. 

"Now, hand it over."

His throat became dry as it was the first time that Edward showed his greed openly. What came over his older brother to act in such a manner?
