Chapter 73: Am I a friend or a foe?

MARY

'Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap.' Mary Earle thought. She was wishing that the earth would swallow her whole right this instant.

'I will always be by your side, come what may.' Her exact words responding to Marcus Zephanie's query regarding her loyalty resonated with her greatly reminding her that she had just signed her death certificate and there was no other way out.

Out of frustration, Mary wanted to bang her head against a hard cement.

"What were you thinking, Mary?" she said, finding herself muttering once again. Gratefully, there was no one around to hear her ridiculous self scolding herself too.

Mary rolled her eyes, even that sounded ridiculous.

Dang. She must be so close to losing it by now. 

'Well, should I head to the psychiatric ward instead?' Mary thought, unable to hide her sarcasm since she was heading towards the medical building anyway.
