Chapter 195: Aiden Jenkins. Hunted

Grant smiles wickedly at my words and, seeing his large teeth and impish eyes, I suddenly feel compelled to compare him to an evil character in a movie. The Joker and the clown from IT come to mind. I give my head a little shake to get rid of the scandalous thought and focus on the villain standing in front of me instead. 

"Oh, is that so?" Grant whispers close to my ear. I can smell his bacon and beans breath as it billows past my cheek and have to stop myself from wrinkling my nose in disgust. 

"Aiden, let's just get out of her," Karlie advises, pulling at my hand that is still clutched in hers. 

Grant's smile widens at what I assume is the fear he hears in Karlie's voice. One of his eyebrows lifts up to offer a challenge as he crosses his arms in front of him, his belly protrudes further as he does. He is close enough to me that I can clearly see the holes that are his pores on his nose and cheeks, despite the very dim glow of the room.
