Chapter 113: How to Make the Mom Happy

In an act of cowardice, I chose not to ask who it was she saw and put off asking her who that was to a later time. I know it doesn't change the answer, but deep down I feel that maybe if I delay knowing the answer it'll be safer.

"Maybe it was just a coincidence. Quit looking at them, they're probably thriving off seeing your face. It gives them something to film. Close the curtains, call the sheriff's office so they can get rid of those piranhas and I'll see you when I get home. I love you."

"Wait a minute, before you go."

"Yes mom?"

"Make sure you bring that boy in with you when you get back home. We need to have a talk."

"Yes ma'am."

Hearing the phone start cutting out, I realize our conversation reached it's head just in time.

"Mom I'm not sure if you can hear me, but I'm losing reception. I love you. Make sure the doors are locked, the alarm is set, and that you call the sheriff. I will see you when I get home."
