Chapter 6: CHAPTER SIX
"We did it!" I confessed. "You did what?"a confused Miss Huff asked. "The rotten eggs....Tiffany...Hospital." I stammered . "What are you saying Miss Brown? . " We are the real culprits!" Britney finally spoke."What!!!!". Miss Huff exclaimed.
"Tiffany is Taylor's roommate. She has been giving Taylor a lot of trouble so I decided to help Taylor get back at her." "We didn't know she was allergic to eggs Miss Huff, we promise." I quickly added hoping that will save us from expulsion. "Girls, you know you almost took someone's life and that is a criminal offence in our country." "Yes, Miss Huff" we responded. Well, I was wrong. The look on Miss Huff's face clearly spelt out expulsion. Without wasting much time, she called our parents. I don't know what she said to them but I was eager to find out what my fate was.
"I can't believe life in my dream school ended like this." I thought and this time broke down in tears but I deserved it I nearly killed my roommate. "I'm sorry Britney, I should never have involved you in this mess. I'm really sorry..........Please forgive me." I said still crying. Britney didn't respond .
Miss Huff called for the whole school to gather at the auditorium again but this time we knew what the meeting was about. I felt ashamed of myself. The thought of what daddy would do to me made me want to cry more. I had disappointed mom. Aunt Laura would never buy me gifts again and for Anne, I had given her the opportunity to tell dad,"I told you so." She never liked the way daddy pampered me and gave me everything I wanted and that was the more reason I didn't like her. I just realised she was right when she said my attitude would be my downfall but it was too late😭 .
Britney was quiet all this time. I'm sure she was thinking about how life would be for her. She came from a family that lived from hand to mouth. Her parents invested all their savings in her education only for it to end like this and it was ALL BECAUSE OF ME.
The whole school had gathered and it was time for judge to declare her verdict. I didn't pay attention to all she said because I was thinking of day. "These girls are going to be on suspension for a month." Miss Huff declared. "Wait............did I hear suspension or expulsion" I asked myself with a bit of joy. "One month suspension."she repeated and dismissed the gathering.
"Hurrayyyy💃🎆" my inner self jumped out with joy. " This was truly God giving us another chance. " I thought happily. Britney cheered up a bit and that was enough for me.
