Thud! Thud!
Two strong and lava coated arms raised in the air suddenly fell down on the ground. Then a stream of blood burst forth from the stubble of the cleanly severed portion of the arm of Bromite.
Ahhh!
Arrgghh!!!
Shouted Bromite as his face distorted in pain.
Those who are looking at this scene were all dumbfounded and those who have heard the loud cry of Bromite turned their attention towards this place.
Curt did not bother with the man who is now kneeling on the ground looking at his severed limbs. After being cut, the lava covering the arms suddenly went out of control and burned the two arms as the LEP immunity of the caster has already been banished.
Bromite's eyes are filled with despair and pain as he saw his two arms melting due to his own power. But his now eyes suddenly glared at the masked man who casually stood there while looking at the two figures on the ground.
Feeling the killing intent on Bromite's gaze, Curt suddenly made a move and sent a fast side-kick towards the already kneeling figure of Bromite. That strong kick sent Bromite flying in the air towards a tree with a loud thud.
Everyone was a bit scared now. They knew how powerful that man is and they also saw the many espers in their group that he killed. Though they are happy that the man suffered, they are also afraid of the killing machine that sent him flying.
Right now, only a handful of armed men are left along with two other espers on their side which are still fighting against the mercenary commanders.
Curt did not mind the reaction of those people and with a chilling gaze approach Alan Kane whose face is already pale white in fear. Suddenly, he saw the masked man squatted down and then carefully lifted Jenny Mae. He carried her carefully in his arms.
Alan could even see the exposed eyes under the mask glance at her with gentleness and care. Those eyes made his heart skip a beat. But he didn't know why when he suddenly feels a dull pain inside of him. Through this incident, he realized that he felt something for his friend. But he still did not know what it was.
He is currently confused about that strange feeling in his heart.
He looks at his palms and then shifted his gaze to the masked man, but he suddenly discovers that the masked man has already jumped high up in the air.
"Damn… is he… is he also an esper?" he muttered to himself unconsciously as his mind was still a mess.
Meanwhile, Myst who is barely hanging while fighting Tempest suddenly saw what happened to Bromite. She immediately decided to run. Suddenly she vanished and soon appears near Bromite who has already fainted.
She did not hesitate and immediately covered herself and Bromite with her mist power and the two vanished.
Bender on the other hand has already run a while ago. He left his golem to fight the others while he ran when he saw Bromite being defeated easily by the masked man. He has already encountered that guy before and when he saw Bromite fight against the masked man and lose easily, he immediately decided to run. His life is more important to him.
The ground is littered with dead bodies especially those that belonged to the armed men who ambush the espers. Almost all of them died except for some who has already run away.
"Vipercrown, what should we do? Should we hunt that creature? Or retreat?" Tempest who landed beside Vipercrown asked with a knitted brow.
"We should retreat and recover. We lost some of our comrades today… Sigh…"
"Wait… how about Firebraid?" suddenly the tall leader of the Greenhoundz step forward.
"Don't worry, that masked man will not harm her… I… I think there is something between them, this is because he also gave the same talisman to her." Tempest replied.
"Yes, I'm curious about that, what kind of talisman are you talking about? Did it cause the protection barrier just now?" Vipercrown asked in curiosity.
Tempest, showed a faint smile on her face.
"We'll talk about that after we…" suddenly Tempest paused as her expression turned serious.
"Gather everyone… we have company… I will stall for time, you all should escape!" she suddenly shouted as she flew high up in the air.
Vipercrown knew that something is wrong. He wanted to assist but he has another responsibility, so he immediately called all the espers and the leaders to retreat.
Alan Kane looks in the direction where the masked man left. He knew that he was not that powerful to protect his friend. In fact, because of him, she was almost put in more danger.
He clenched his fists and promised himself to work hard to earn his place on her side. He is determined to become more powerful and be her shield. And since they now belong to the same group, he knew that he could have more opportunities to interact with her.
Before leaving he shifted his gaze once again to that direction and then reluctantly left with the group.
At the same time… Tempest is currently facing hundreds of huge beasts that suddenly came out of nowhere. When she saw them she was a bit taken aback. Luckily for her, the staff in her hand is able to help her recover her LEP energy and almost never get exhausted.
But the mental pressure she is facing right now is too immense. But as someone who is already at level 25, she is capable of defeating these creatures as long as her LEP energy is not drained or she did not get injured that badly.
When she has sensed that her teammates have already left the territory of the Flood Dragon, she suddenly flew high up in the sky and also left the area.
While flying about, she suddenly spotted a figure running above the trees as if he is flying through them. She immediately controlled her power and flew towards that person.
"Hey… you okay?" she suddenly asked while flying beside him.
"Yeah, I'm good," Curt replied casually.
He has already sensed her coming towards him so he didn't mind.
"She… she seems very important to you..."
Curt did not say anything and just kept on running.
Feeling the awkwardness in the air, Melissa (Tempest) showed a sheepish smile on her beautiful face.
"Do you want me to carry her to the base, it would be faster?" she offered.
Curt suddenly thought for a while, then stopped stop a tree. But before he could say anything, he suddenly spotted a figure not too far from them.
"I think you should consider catching that guy…" Curt said then handed her two talismans.
"This one is for capturing, while this one is for defense." He explained.
"Good luck…" Curt added and then left the area.
Melissa shifted her gaze to the figure and shook her head. She then darted towards the escaping man.
Bender was able to escape the carnage and was stunned to discover that the large team they have brought was almost wiped out by a single person. In fact, there are also espers among those people. However, that terrifying figure was able to kill them all.
"Damn it! Damn it! Since we've been exposed, I could not stay in Kor City anymore… I… I should go to Gen city… or… Polo town would also be a good place to hide for a while." Bender began planning his next move.
He didn't know if the other teams were able to be successful in their mission. Although their group suffered large casualties, they could also be considered as successful as the creature was able to escape.
As Bender was thinking while running, he suddenly feels a bad premonition in his heart. He suddenly turns around to see what is wrong but found nothing. This is the outer forest and he knew the danger within it.
That's why even though he is escaping he did not lower his vigilance.
But it seems that nothing is here. Although he could feel the danger, yet he could not see anything. Hence he continues to run away.
But as soon as he took three steps, he suddenly feels something hitting his back and a large jolt of electricity suddenly paralyzed his body.
Then a tall and beautiful figure suddenly landed beside his body before he could feel his consciousness suddenly fading.
"So this is the reason why he said that this thing is for capturing…" Melissa said with a smile.

Curt arrives in Tup town after a long time running. Those mercenary and soldier looks at him with complicated eyes when they saw him carrying an unconscious woman. But the soldiers stationed in the town already recognized the masked man and the mercenary also heard about him from Kor city, so they dare not stand in his way.
Curt rented a room and after entering it quickly, he put Jenny Mae on the bed. He showed a complicated expression upon seeing her clothes in a sorry state. He stood up and wanted to go out of the room when he suddenly feels his head getting dizzy.
Then he realized what has happened.
He has already over-drafted his strength. His core is not yet that stable and because of the constant use of speed talisman, it has drawn out almost all the LEP inside of it.
Then before he could do anything else, Curt felt his body becoming weak and suddenly he fell to the ground and was rendered unconscious.
Long after the Curt arrived in the town, the group of espers under Vipercrown has also arrived. It took them a long time to arrive in the town because of the dangerous terrain and the wounded. But they were able to safely reach the town.
They were greeted by Tempest and she reported to Vipercrown about the captured terrorist and the female esper which the masked man saved.
Alan Kane upon hearing this immediately ran towards the room where Jenny Mae is resting. Upon seeing his friend seem to be fine he heaves a sigh of relief. Then suddenly he recalled the masked man and his relationship with Jenny Mae. From those eyes, he could see that the two seem to know each other and that he cared for her.
But right now, his priority is to make sure that she wakes up. So he stayed by her side anxiously waiting.
