Chapter 13: Chapter 13 – The APE fraternity

Alan Kane is a top student at Esper College, and also the vice president of the well-known fraternity in school, the APE fraternity. He is a 21-year-old senior student and is taking a medical course. Although he is calm and collected at times and has a good temperament. He is known to be one of the top 5 Espers in school when it comes to fighting.
He and Jenny Mae Lee have been schoolmates since young and both of them are familiar with each other. The truth is, that Jenny Mae had a crush on this guy but kept it to herself because of her insecurities.
When Alan Kane enters the scene, Jenny Mae cannot help herself but looks at the guy with admiration in her eyes. However, she controls it and shifts her gaze to the other group of women who are taunting them, so that she can hide this feeling of hers.
"Why, if it isn't Mr. Vice president… What in the world did you eat when you decided to grace us with your presence." A man's voice suddenly interrupted them as another group appeared.
This group of people is led by 2 very handsome young men. It was Leo Melus and Bart Jung. When Meng Jung made her move, someone informed the two, and, along with their band of poses, they decided to watch.
But who would have known that they would encounter the Vice President of the APE fraternity in this place?
The APE fraternity or Alpha Pi Echo fraternity is a group of Espers that is well-known in the province. The fraternity itself is being led by a large organization in the shadows. Many say that the organization is being directed by the government, due to the good contribution they gave to society. However, some are skeptical because fraternities have been outlawed due to their violent tendencies and hazing.
But of course, APE is different from those other fraternities, as they are more into community service and defense.
Alan Kane, as the vice president of the Esper College branch in Kor City, has a lot of power in his hands that has gained the ire and jealousy of most of the young masters in school.
"Leo, Bart… I am just here to make sure that no fighting is happening in school. Hopefully, you can control your sister, Bart." Alan Kane said with a smile.
The confident and handsome look on Alan's face made Leo and Bart's expression change. They never truly like the guy, but what can they do? He is stronger than both of them combined. And they can only rely on their family's power. But in school, they can't do anything to him. Unless they are crazy.
Bart glares at Alan while dragging his sister, who is complaining as she is unwilling to back down. Plus, she has a little crush on Alan, so she is unwilling to leave. However, due to her brother's strength, she couldn't do anything but complain and whine while her group of posse followed behind.
"Are you girls, okay?" Alan said with a smile, looking at the three.
Loo Krystal Noah suddenly pounces on Alan's sexy arms and hugs them.
"Alan! You are our hero…"
"Haha… it was Kathy's kick that scared those girls, you know," Alan said while chuckling.
He felt awkward as he could feel the plumpness of Loo Crystal Noah's twin-peaks. This made him feel a bit uncomfortable and showing a pleading look at Jenny Mae.
Jenny felt a bit annoyed at her friend, but she kept it to herself and just rolled her eyes towards Alan.
"Hey, Loo! You're hugging the VP to yourself… I want a share too." Kathy suddenly said as she ran to the other side and hugged the other arm of Alan.
The two dragged him to the classroom.
"Hey, hey… I'm not in your class… I have to go now." Alan said as he suddenly moved and retrieved his arms from the clingy girls.
"Alright, be good now… bye girls… Bye… Jenny." Alan said with a hint of reluctance in his tone as he looked at Jenny with a gentle smile on his face.
When Alan's figure disappears on the corridor bend, the two girls are still watching space.
"Sigh… He's so handsome and perfect… If only I could have his heart." Loo said while shifting her gaze to Jenny with a knowing look on her face.
"Yeah… we have to flirt and use our bodies just to attract that guy, and you… you just smile, and his eyes will glow in happiness… Ahhh… the world is unfair!" Kathy said while acting pitiful and depressed.
"Stop it you two…" Jenny rolled her eyes and went to her seat while the two girls followed.
The other students in the classroom gave the three an incredulous look and some women showed animosity towards the three. They felt jealous that those three were close to Alan. And it was almost always that whenever they would encounter trouble, Alan would appear. This has already gained the animosity of some groups towards them.
Though the Esper powers of each student are secret, and they would seldom use them, there is a rumor that Alan's Esper power is clairvoyance or third eye. But no one has discovered it yet.
Meanwhile, the three who have just retreated have a dejected look on their faces. They wanted to watch a good show but who would have known that it would be ruined by that busybody, Alan? Hence, the three are discontented.
"Brother, I want to go back… I want to slap those b*tches." Meng Jung shouted in annoyance.
"Don't be too impatient… the school meeting is just around the corner. We can make our move at that time," Leo suddenly said, with a sinister grin on his face.
"Che… You've said that many times already. And until now, we are the ones who always suffer. I think you should change your plans, Leo. It's not working, you know," Meng said with a sneer on her beautiful yet haughty face.
"Not this time… I am sure that my plan is perfect. I will make sure that those three will suffer humiliation." Leo said as he continued walking with a smug look on his face.
"Just trust in Leo, Meng. You know his plans are good, right? If that woman does not have good luck, then she has already suffered at our hands."
"Alright, I'll believe in you one last time... Since that day that I was humiliated by her, I have never given up on taking my revenge." Meng Jung said while clenching her fists.

While this is happening, Curt Nilfiem is currently walking towards the convenience store. He saw that his boss was about to open the store which seemed to have been cleaned up by the couple. Luckily, those goons didn't come back; hence Curt heaves a sigh of relief seeing they were fine.
But when his boss and his wife saw his figure entering the store, both were stupefied. They could not believe that Curt would be able to walk out of the hospital after just a day of rest.
"Curt… why are you here? You should go back to the hospital... you… you're still wounded. You just got shot for crying out loud." Boss Lan said with worry in his tone.
"Boss and Lady Boss… don't worry… I'm fine. The hospital has already let me out," Curt said with a smile on his face.
He is grateful to this couple for helping him a lot and for showing their kindness towards him. This truly made him happy and grateful.
"That's good then… but are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, look!" Curt lifted his shirt and showed them that his skin was already fine. It was as if he was not shot at all.
The two just gasped in disbelief, but they already knew that Curt knew medicine. For these last few weeks, they have seen no fewer miracles, hence they were not that surprised anymore. But of course, they still could somehow not believe that he was okay.
"Oh… by the way… our neighbor sent us this." The Lady Boss walked towards the side and showed Curt the huge harvesting backpack.
"Oh… this is nice. Hehe… I almost forgot about this. Hmm… let me check my harvest." Curt said as he lifted the backpack with one hand and walked towards the backroom.
When he did this, the couple showed an astonished look on their faces.
They knew how heavy that thing was. It even took two people just to carry it inside the store. How could Curt just carry it with just one hand, as if it was nothing?
Inside the backroom, Curt began to segregate the plants he harvested two days ago. While checking them, his eyes immediately lit up as he saw that he had gotten what the woman in the hospital needed. He was able to get some plants with the same properties that she needed.
"She is one lucky woman," Curt muttered as he chuckled.
Without a second thought, he began to set up his workshop once again. The backroom of the convenience store is already set up according to Curt's specifications. And so he just emptied his mind and began to work. He started to compound some of the medicine that the store needed, and at the same time, compound some of the herbs for the woman.
Not long later, he just discovers that it is already dark, and he doesn't even notice the time. Suddenly, the backroom door opened, and Boss Lan walked inside.
"Hey Curt, someone is looking for you." Boss Lan said with a meaningful smile on his face.
Seeing his boss smiling like that, he suddenly had a premonition that his fat boss was thinking about something naughty again. This suddenly gave Curt a chill.
"Come now!… Don't let the guest wait!" Boss Lan said as he walked towards Curt and grabbed his arm.
"Let's go… Let's go!"
When the two went out of the backroom, Curt still felt that something was going on. This is especially true when he saw the broad smile on his Lady Boss's face.
Then, suddenly, Curt was a bit stunned when he shifted his gaze near the entrance. This is because he saw someone whom he has been missing for a while now. That figure would always make his heart beat faster whenever he saw her. Right now, he was looking at Jenny Mae Lee who was still donning that icy look on her face.
But for Curt, she looks really lovely.
