"Open your eyes child, you're safe here." A soft female voice said. I blink my eyes open a couple of times trying to clear the blurriness. I try moving my fingers first testing and expecting to be met with pain but when none came, I move my hands. I bring my hands to my face touching my nose and mouth expecting to see blood. I pull my hand back but see no blood on my fingers. I try sitting up slowly waiting for the pain when none came. I look around me and gasp in awe.
Where am I? I look up at the sky, it is very blue and there is not a cloud in site. I look towards the beach shore and see the waves splash as the tide comes and goes. The sun is brighter than ever and extremely high up in the sky letting me know it is past noon. I turn around and am met with very wild looking woods. Something in me pulls me towards them, I walk in and immediately hear the little creatures lurking around. I feel a weird sense of piece, calm and safe heaven.
The more I enter, I notice that these woods do not resemble any I have ever seen. It looks so wild, uncommon and untouched by the hands of men. Breath taking… "You must be confused?" a gentle male voice says from my right, I turn quickly towards him and cover a scream from my mouth in fright. He keeps walking towards me, and I back away from him. His aura took my breath away and makes my heart drop to my stomach in fear.
He glows a bright red and golden color, something in me whispers to not make him angry. He reeks of wisdom and anger. He is a huge muscular brute of a man, that can crush me without breaking a sweat, he did not wear a shirt which put all his battle scars on display for everyone to see. His chest is covered in them, they look jagged and angry, they had to have been deep wounds to scar this way. His wasted blue jeans hung low on his hips, teasing to the eyes.
He looks as if he was passed through a wringer, been through hell and back. The way he carries himself lets you know he is not the type to be messed with. His head is covered by long black dreadlocks that he left lose down his back. His skin is the color of rich creamy black without a blemish in site besides his scars. His eyes drew you in, like a moth to a flame. You can't take your eyes away from his, they captivated me, the color bright swirling gold and they glowed with mischief.
With every step he took, I took three back. I do not know him and quite frankly I do not trust him. He leans against a tree ten feet away from me, noticing my insistent need to get away from him. He smirks at me mischievously, as if he knew something I did not. "Where am I?" I ask confused and afraid. How in the world did I get here? I tug on my hair and hug myself. The last thing I remember is dying by the hands of my mother. "You already know the answer to that question, don't you?" a soothing female voice said from my left.
Her aura suffocated me, I felt as if my body forgot how to breathe on its own, the closer she got the worse I felt. She is beautiful, she reeks of love and compassion but the anger coming from her made my bladder want to betray my body. Every fiber in me cowers away from her, wanting me to kneel and show my neck in submission. Her long straight jet-black hair was lose behind her back, her white creamy skin made her look gentle but the scars on her arms told another story.
She has a long white dress on, it hugs her curves like a second skin and made her look like an angel. Her eyes are the color of aqua blue, you see the color swirl like the angry waves of the ocean water telling you a story by themselves. She has seen too much and knows more than she has been given credit for. The wisdom that reeks off her pores tells you she is not as young and youthful as she is perceived. She knows and has lived enough to become a force to be reckoned with.
"You intrigued me, Analiah…" she says as she slowly walks around me, assessing me. "I thought you had a lot more fight in you." She sighs saddened. I narrow my eyes in confusion, I turn towards the male and he shrugs his shoulders. He is not going to be of any help to me, I see. "What are you talking about?" I ask confused. "I had my eyes on you… from the moment you took your first breath…" she says as she keeps walking as if speaking to herself. She turns her back to me and sighs in disappointment.
"I thought you would have been a good asset to my children. The way life was shaping you, mmm… the outcome would have been glorious…" she says shaking her head as if she had lost something valuable. "But you…" she chuckles, "You gave up to easily." She says as if speaking to a petulant child. "I admired your good heart, always seeing the glass as if half full knowing its almost empty. That even though you were dealt with the short straw from fate time and time again, you kept hoping for a change." She growls in anger.
"You tainted your heart!" she growls disappointed, "I do not need another bitter female amongst my children." She hisses shaking her head. I'm consumed with the need to cry and I don't know why. Everything in me wants me to bend over backwards and find a way to make her proud of me. Who are they? "I want her." An angry female voice came from behind the first one.
Her aura knocks me off my feet, she reeks of vengeance and pure raw anger. So palpable, it was suffocating. The tension between both females is so thick you can cut it with a knife. This female is tall with dark mocha skin, her head is covered by black crazy curly hair, her eyes glow bright silver and the muscles covering her body don't make her seem any less feminine. Her arms, back and face are covered in scars, but it does not make her any less beautiful.
She carries herself with grace and authority, her head held high without shame. She is wearing a strapless yellow dress that hugs her curves and flows down to her bare feet making her seem harmless. I cower away from what accompanies her, 'A Black Panther'. It follows her as she walks, like a lost puppy. It looks as if it had given up on life, roaring at the air in anguish, something in me whimpers in pain for its loss. The whimper made it pass my lips without any hassle.
Its empty black eyes met mine, I stare at it as something in me reaches out towards it nostalgically wanting to sooth the pain away. I feel as my mind is caressed lovingly, whatever is in me embraces it and I felt as if something clicks into place. Its eyes shine bright as if something is breathing life back into its soul. It looks towards the female then towards me as if wanting to be near me. The two females turn to each other and start to argue between themselves.
"This should be interesting." The male says from next to me frightening me almost into a cardiac arrest. He had slowly approached me without making a sound, I scramble away from him as far as I could. "Who are you people?" I ask loudly making both females look knowingly towards me then disregard me. "I am Zander descendent of the sun, the female that spoke to you is Luna descendent of the moon and the other is Keisha her sister." Zander answers as he slowly approaches me.
His answer leaves me reeling with more questions. I still do not know who they are, I lean against one of the trees and sit by its roots. I pull my knees against my chest and lay my head against them. I feel something rub against my shoulder and lick my cheek. I lift my head and scream in fright. The panther roars loudly and pounces, its teeth meet my neck and pierces my skin. I feel my warm blood run down my chest and back. Tears flow down my cheeks with nothing stopping their descend.
I survived my mother's wrath only to die by the jaw of a panther. I feel Zander reach towards me, his energy fills me to my core, it rushes through my veins and ties itself around my heart making it his. He caresses my face lovingly and wipes my tears away. The energy shows me glimpses of him watching the exchange between the panther and I from the moment Keisha had showed herself. He never took his eyes off us as Keisha and Luna bicker between themselves. "To late… she has been chosen." Zander says as I lose consciousness.
"It is to late… She has been chosen…" keeps repeating through my mind on a loop.
"She is back, she is back!" I hear someone yell distortedly as if I were under water. I feel many hands on me, prodding, pinching and moving me. The pain is escalating making me wish I were dead. I hear many voices but can't make out what they are saying, and I don't recognize any of them. "We got her, we got her!" My eyes are forcefully open and flashed with a bright light. "Pupils are responsive…" I hear distortedly. Everything hurts and the more they move me, the worse it got.
"Who did this to this poor girl?" someone whispers. "I don't know but whoever did, left her for dead." Another person responds. Their voices start to sound slurred as the pain gets worse. "We are losing her…" I hear as I start to feel numb, the darkness is calling me like the voice of a siren, sweet relieve… "What have you done?!" I hear Keisha demand. "What I had…" Zander starts saying, "You better not dare finish that sentence!" Keisha roars in anger.
"I did you a favor…" he says, "Oh… please Zander you only thought of yourself, so do not pretend…" her anger was suffocating me. "It was either do it this way or sabotage your plan and take her for myself. It has been centuries since I have found a soul with that fire." Zander hisses. "That is why I wanted her! You do not have a clue of what you have done. You are always meddling where you are not wanted. I can smell what you did." She says angry.
"I will not apologize! I have my reasons and you have yours. Deal with it!" he yells annoyed. "I chose her, I wanted her, and you just had to piss all over my plan. I needed her…" Keisha hisses. "What is done, can't be undone Keisha. Let it go… now we must see it play out. Finnish the claim or she will die." Luna says. "She still might." Keisha whispers in anger. What are they talking about? I hear a soothing chant and feel something in me come alive.
Power rushes through my veins at such blinding speed making me feel as if I was being burned alive. I feel her pull something from inside me and unite it with my soul. I feel my soul embrace it with love and mix it with our DNA. I feel whole again… There is barely any pain, I move my finders testing the waters then my toes, hands and legs waiting for the pain, but none came. I feel sore but no pain.
