Chapter 3: entry 2

Night singing could be heard doing their choir under the gaze of the moon that illuminated the world's darkness accompanied by dots of light that made the starry night sky a sight to behold.

Inside one of the houses in the village, while everyone was already asleep. A young man with dark hair and neat figure held an old book on his hands reading it like a prayer.

" Lukasan yo so pwerta paunlad arum ya dalan," though he couldn't understand what this words means this was the ending of the old book.

" nothing happened?" Enlir said as he closed the book. " I should probably burn it now." he said and stood up, he brought a match with him as he silently left the house, he wouldn't burn it inside like obviously who would burn something inside his home?

...

During the day a young man could be seen leaving a stone house with a book on his hand, he passed by many cheerful childrens playing in delight. Unbeknownst to the young man, a shadowy dark figure was watching him from above the houses.

It had been watching him ever since he returned home. And it followed him as he left his house in the middle of the night.

Enlir lit up a match and burned the book buried in dried up small branches and leaves.

He watched it burn until ashes remained, he found that some part of the book particularly the cover wasn't completely burnt so he burned it until nothing but ashes was left, after which he got home and prepared to sleep, he felt hungry as he stayed up all night long so he silently ate first before going to bed.

Enlir was very worn out and immediately fell asleep right after he closed his eyes.

The leaves rustled and flowers danced as the wind passed by, Enlir felt something very soft caressing his cheeks and slowly opened his eyes. Cool breeze made his hair flutter, he just woke up so he didn't immediately realize that he wasn't on his bed and room anymore.

He smelt the fresh and strong odor of grass and earth that woke him up in daze as he looked at his surrounding.

" where the hell am I?" Enlir muttered as he looked at himself. He was still wearing his usual clothing and nothing seems wrong to his body.

He looked again around him, he was under a tree that stood alone at a plain of flowery carpet. He find the scenery relaxing and new, but remained vigilant of what or who might have brought him here.

" enthralling scenery isn't it?" someone suddenly spoke with a hoarse voice, Enlir was frozen in shock, that voice really made his body all weak and soft.

He looked at the origin of the voice and he was more dumbstruck than ever, at a branch of the tree a humanoid dark smoke like figure was sitting with it's fiery red eyes focused on Enlir.

" wha... what... Are... You?" Enlir stuttered as he spoke, he was in the process on wetting his own pants.

" Relax, I mean you no harm." the dark figure said. " you can call me Arbruos," he added as he leaped down from the tree.

" aaaahhhh!!!!!" Arbruos landed right in front of Enlir, who was still afraid, silly. Screamed whole heartily like a woman in distress.

Arbruos looked at Enlir helplessly and extended his smoke like hand towards the still screaming Enlir and held him in the mouth. Enlir tried to dodge but he couldn't move a single muscle for unknown reason.

Smoke like something entered Enlir's mouth and Enlir stopped struggling, all his muscles relaxed and he felt calm all of a sudden.

" right... Everything's fine now so let me introduce myself again, I'm called Arbruos and I'm the guardian of the forest where your Village is situated into." He said in hoarse voice and yet Enlir didn't feel afraid now he continued after seeing Enlir listen. " can you introduce yourself more young Enlir?"

" my name is Enlir, Enlir Grunt. I'm sixteen years old... What did you do to me?" he said in a more confident manner, it's like talking to someone he already knew for years.

" ohh, nothing much really. I just casted a spell that makes someone more calm, It's a low class subsidiary healing spell." Arbruos said proudly. " by the way, who thought you... No, who gave you that book you're reading? That old book you just burned remember?" he asked.

" why are you asking?" Enlir said in a somewhat wary manner.

" ohh... Don't worry I won't harm whoever is he... Or her." Arbruos replied.

" it was given to me by one of our elder in the village, do you know her, perhaps?" Enlir asked, he really didn't want to say anything but he couldn't really stop talking as he felt that this monster in front of him was trust worthy.

He must've done something to me, Enlir thought.

" no, sorry. I don't really know any humans... Ohh... I did know one, no, I think two..." Arbruos said. " don't worry I won't do anything to anyone in your Village, but what that someone that gave you that book did was a taboo."

" a taboo? What do you mean by that?" Enlir asked.

" it's forbidden to give or teach someone how to gain access to the spiritual world." Arbruos said. "yes, this is the spiritual world, this is your first time here so I really need teach you some things about this world." Arbruos proudly said to Enlir who was processing informations to his brain.

" spiritual world... you mean?" Enlir spoke.

I must've heard of that somewhere... What is it again? He talked inside his mind.

" yes, the world of mages, sorcerers, magus... Anyway you call them." Arbruos said. " it's been a while since I have someone new so as a welcome gift I will teach you things about this world, what do you think?"

" it's... My pleasure, please." Enlir respectfully said, the term Sorcerer. He finally remembered where he had seen the word Spiritual world, it was on one of the books that depicts the origin of the mythical Sorcerers.

He was respectful as he seems to recall that this monster in front of him called himself a guardian, it sounds like a respectful position. and as if being a Sorcerer wasn't someone to be respected, he remembered that Arbruos had cast a spell on him, so that confirms he was a Sorcerer.

Arbruos saw Enlir's respectful attitude and made him more excited, he looks like a kindergarten teacher who was eager to teach kids.
