Chapter 19: 2713 Fighting a tier 5 Saint

"Sir knight I wish to take the challenge to obtain the broken edge" Shi Feng said. The sword sanctuary was a very straightforward place. You can either train or try to win its prizes.
The knight looked at Shi Feng in surprise. "The challenge for the broken edge is S rank and rivals inferior legendary quest. Are you sure about this" the knight advised Shi Feng.
"I am sure" Shi Feng said with confidence what was he here for if not broken edge
"Ok adventurer. You only have one chance if you fail you will immediately leave the sword sanctuary and may not return for a year. Take this challenge orb and walk up to the gate." The knight then handed Shi Feng a gray crystal orb.
Shi Feng became nervous, if he failed he wouldn't be able to reforge Solomon sword for another year. If I fail I'll just send Gentle Snow or someone else. He calmed down when he realized he could always send the guilds other members to get the sword for him, after all he has clues for other blade wanderers and with his knowledge on the challenge his experts should have an easier time than him. When Shi Feng walked through the gate his surroundings turned gray and he reappeared in a dome made of glass. Powerful gusts of wind almost blew Shi Feng off his feet.

So a survival game, this means I can't use my mounts or fly and have to hoof it. Shi Feng then ran towards the only mountain in the dome. After twenty minutes Shi Feng sensed danger and a spear flew right at him, but Shi Feng was quick and effortlessly dodged it. But in the next moment hundreds of spears and arrows started raining down Shi Feng but to Shi Feng who's at the peak of the ascension realm this was child's play. He weaved through and blocked all the spears and arrows not taking any damage at all. The insane wind didn't even hinder his progress. Shi Feng activated omniscient eyes and saw nearly 700 cavemen running for him.

In exchange for losing their intelligence they automatically become tier 3 or 4 and obtain unparalleled fighting instinct. Shi Feng decided his best bet was to clear a way and find some place to hide. Lost cavemen all have monster level combat standards; he will lose stamina and concentration too quickly if he fights all of them at once. Shi Feng charged into one group and activated blade domain, with twenty giant swords he used sword orbit and created an impenetrable defense, he also activated lightning edge and flame domain to create chaos in the battlefield.
After five days of nonstop fighting Shi Feng made his way to the mountain top. There he found a cave and in the cave was a resplendent sword strapped in the ground, it was broken edge. But the sword was being guarded by a tier 5 sword saint +

Shi Feng was surprised, he has been carrying fragments of Solomon Sword all this time and never once felt them resonate with each other. "Yes lord Cane I do have other fragments of the original sword" Shi Feng told the truth lying to a tier 5 NPC could have dire consequences and Shi Feng had no way to hide the truth from him.
Cane's face turned serious "Young man if you are planning to reforge the sword of old you must prove yourself worthy, power like that brings a weight that most cannot bear."

The top of the mountain shattered and Shi Feng flew right back to the ground with half his hp. The upgraded heavenly dragon power allowed him to rival his twofold berserk states but that isn't enough. And if he brings himself to tier 5 with blade saint power he knows very well he doesn't stand a chance against Cane. After all, generally players can only beat NPCs a tier below them. Cane shot out from the mountain and charged at him. Shi Feng, not daring to confront the NPC, ran into the forest and Cane chased. With a swing of his great sword he would clear part of the forest creating void spaces. For a time a game of cat and mouse was played between Shi Feng and Cane. Shi Feng used everything in his arsenal to hold of Cane, after thirty minutes Shi Feng had only blade saint power and blade domain left, do I have to give up and send someone else Shi Feng thought, if it was the normal trial Snow or Fire could definitely pass it but Cane might increase the difficulty to make sure Shi Feng doesn't get a chance to get broken edge no matter how small that may be. Suddenly a lightning storm was occurring. In this dome crazy weather happens all the time from scorching heat waves and freezing snow storms. If Shi Feng didn't have crazy environmental resistance he would have died ten times over. Suddenly a thought passed through Shi Feng, eternal lightning is basically the lightning version of eternal energy. Shi Feng made it back to the top of the mountain but saw that Cane had already discovered him and was chasing him. Shi Feng then activated blade saint power and blade domain, Shi Feng then controlled his swords to do sword orbit creating a barrier of giant stars around him. This managed to hold back Cane but not for long. Under the raging lightning storm Shi Feng used a soul crystal and did the movements for instant flash. After ten seconds Shi Feng performed the move at 100% and a massive amount of lightning exploded from Shi Feng's body, this actually managed to throw back Cane which stunned him. Is he trying to learn a taboo skill right now?" Cane was amazed at Shi Feng's tenacity, but that didn't matter; he couldn't let someone reforge Solomon sword or the consequences could be dire, Cane charged back at Shi Feng. Thanks to the explosion of lightning Shi Feng attracted the lightning from the storm using killing ray as a conductor, he then took out Augustus heart and a God crystal, "I hope this works" Shi Feng prayed for a miracle as he activated the magic arrays for the gods heart and manipulated lightning to enter it. Shi Feng always had a strong connection with lightning type mana so this wasn't too difficult. A moment later a blue glow left the gods heart and the entire area was dominated by lightning type mana that cleared Shi Feng's mind. Infact Shi Feng could feel his neural reaction becoming smaller. Normal domain realm experts have a neural reaction of .08 seconds while Shi Feng had progressed through the domain realm and realms of truth to shorten his to .06 seconds but now he feels that his neural reaction speed is reaching .05 seconds. If he was still in the void realm with this neural rate he can beat domain realm experts to a pulp. Shi Feng was engrossed in this feeling of eternal lightning that he didn't even notice the system notification informing him that he just learned instant flash. +

"If you say so then come and give me your strongest!" Cane was a little excited he couldn't remember the last time he felt a challenge like this. Cane started to collect the ambient mana to his sword and then a giant tornado of fire replaced his sword

The surroundings were dominated by lightning and fire type mana and two barriers of the respected elements clashed both fighting for dominance over one another.

Shi Feng then shot his accompanied swords of lightning at Cane and in response Cane slashed his tornado of fire at Shi Feng. The flaming tornado ate the lightning swords but it became weakened because of it. Shi Feng then executed lightning flash and because of the insane speed boost instant flash provides instead of the usual 17 sword strikes Shi Feng created 34 and taking inspiration from Clyde he placed the sword strikes next to each other and merged them all into one. A deadly arc of lightning then slammed into Cane's tornado of fire. Everything within a 400 yard radius was blown away, space shattered like glass and an invisible force concentrated to the middle of the two attacks then exploded, the sheer force of which managed to crack the dome they were in. When the clash was done flames were everywhere in a 500 yard area but there was a giant lightning scorch mark that extended over 600 yards. Way out in the distance was Cane lying on his back and looking towards the very cracked dome, when he looked back to where he was standing he saw Shi Feng with his clothes ripped, flame marks on his armor, and standing proudly, the man was not even pushed back
