Chapter 36: Realizations
Bailey's POV
All throughout the movie, Maggie and I would sing along to all of the songs in the movie. You could say we're obsessed with it, and I don't mind. Maggie and I would always watch this movie on our movie nights.
"God, I love this movie." Maggie sighed.
"Sweetheart we can tell." I say, making Zoe an Arden laugh.
"Hey! You were singing too." She argues defensively.
"Okay, you got me." I smile.
I was about to go into the kitchen to get some crisps when I got a phone call. It was from Jack.
Am I supposed to pick this up?
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom." I call over to the girls. They all nod without taking their eyes off the TV.
I walked into my room and shut the door.
"Hello?" I ask.
"Oh my god Bailey, thank god you picked up." Jack says.
"Yeah, uh, so what were you calling about?"
"I didn't cheat on Maggie, Bailey. I promise you. You have to believe me." He pleaded.
"I believe you."
"Wait...you do?"
I could tell Jack was taken aback at how I took his side without hesitation.
"Yeah, I mean, my theory was that Carly always had a thing for you and she just came onto you. Plus, Maggie's known you longer than she's known Carly."
"Wow, I thought you were going to lash out at me for a second." He lets out a sigh of relief.
"I'm not AS crazy as my sister Jack." I joke.
"And I'm happy about that. But, how am I supposed to get her back? She's not answering my calls or anything. She only sent me that one text."
"I don't know. We have to find a way to prove that you didn't cheat. That's going to be hard." I say, starting to pace across my room.
"You're telling me."
"BAILEY? ARE YOU OKAY IN THERE?!" I hear Maggie ask.
"UH, YEAH I'M FINE! I'LL BE OUT IN A SECOND!" I shout back.
"Listen, I've got to go, but we'll figure something out." I say in a rush.
"Alright, thanks."
"You're welcome."
I hang up and run back out into the living room.
"Christ, I honestly thought you'd fallen in." Zoe teased.
"That joke is so dead." I roll my eyes and walk over to the sofa to join the girls again.
Maggie's POV
The movie was almost over when my phone buzzed.
God, if it's jack again I'm going to throw my phone against the wall.
I opened my phone to see a text from someone I hadn't spoken to in a while. The one and only Rickey Thompson.
Party Boy🎊: Mags! OMG, I just finished moving back! We neeeeeed to have a party sometime soon!
Baby Devil😈: OMG RICKEYYYYY!!!! I'm so happy!! Yes, we HAVE to celebrate. We're meeting up tomorrow for sure.
Party Boy🎊: Of course! What time?
Baby Devil😈: Does 1:00 work for you?
Party Boy🎊: DUH, I'm always free!😜
Baby Devil😈: Oooof course you are. See you soon! Do you mind if I bring Sophie with me?
Party Boy🎊: OMG! Not at all! I miss that bad bitch so much. We're gonna have so much fun.
Baby Devil😈: lol, obviously. I gtg but I'll see you tomorrow!❤️
Party Boy🎊: See you babes!❤️
I shut my phone off, stood up and squealed.
"Guess what Bails?" I ask, jumping up and down.
"What?" She asks.
"RICKEY AND DENZEL MOVED BACK AND THEY WANT TO MEET US TOMORROW!" I shriek. Bailey's jaw dropped and then she started jumping up and down along with me.
"Oh my god! I'm so excited!" She yelled.
"Okay, sorry to interrupt, but who're Rickey and Denzel?" Arden asks.
"They're my old school friends from a while ago. They both moved to the US after year 8, but now the baddies are back!" I say, while starting to dance.
"Aw, that's so nice. When are you meeting him?" Zoe asks.
"1:00 pm tomorrow." I say. Arden and Zoe nod while Bailey and I look at each other with the widest grins.
"We need to throw a party with him." I demand.
"DUH!" Sophie agrees. Arden and Zoe giggle from behind us.
"I guess this good news has distracted you from all the drama." Arden says.
"I guess it has." I smile with confidence.
"Zoe, what time is it?" Bailey asks.
"It's is 11:15 my dear, why?" She asks.
"Because I am hella sleepy." She responds, while wiping her eyes.
"Same here." I say with a yawn.
"I'm drifting off too." Arden waved.
"Same." Zoe put a hand in the air.
"I guess we've all become zombies, huh?" I joke.
"For now." Arden yawns.
"Who's staying over?" Bailey asks.
"Me." Arden and Zoe both say in unison. They look at each other with wide eyes, then shrug.
"And I'm obviously staying because of..." I trail off. The girls nod but don't say anything in response.
"Well, I'm heading to bed. Anyone of you, feel free to join me." I say, standing up and walking towards the hall.
In the end, Zoe ended up staying in my room with me, and Arden stayed with Sophia.
HA! Jokes on her, Sophia snores in her sleep.
As I lay there in bed, I stared up at the ceiling thinking about Jack and Carly.
"What're you thinking about?" I heard Zoe's soft voice ask.
"Just about Jack and Carly." I sigh. Just then, Zoe jumps up and sits on my bed next to where I was laying.
"Talk to me." She demands, looking me dead in the eye.
"I'm just thinking, would he really do that? I mean he proposed for Gods sake. He loves me, and I love him. But then again, Carly is one of my best friends, or was, one of my best friends. She wouldn't do that, would she?" I turn my head to Zoe to see her with her hand on her chin and her brows furrowed.
"Well, I don't things that he did it. Yes, he can be a player, and he's notorious for it, but he really loves you, and yes Carly was one of your besties, but she could've just wanted to use you to get to Jack. And don't forget, he took the big step of proposing to you, he wouldn't cheat after doing that. But that's just my viewing on it." Zoe says.
"You know what? You're right. You're completely right. Carly always did act like a weird pickle around Jack too. She just wanted to get to him from me." I say, looking at Zoe. I pulled her in for a tight hug.
"You're a great friend Zo." I whisper before pulling away.
"That's just what friends are for. Now let's get some sleep, I'm about to collapse." she says laying back.
"Goodnight Zoe."
"Goodnight Margaret."
I groan and turn out the lights.
