Chapter 39: Chapter 1

Seven years later.

"Dada!" Deborah hoped from out of the couch, running to Elie who had just walked in.

"Hi baby." He said to her as he picked her up.

"I went swimming today, with Mama!" She exclaimed.

"Oh really? What about David?" Elie smiled down at her while pecking her flushed checks.

"He was scared to go in but Mama and I helped him." She said.

"I see." Elie walked upstairs to his room where Christy was helping David in his pajamas.

"Papa." David's face lighted up as he saw his dad, he slowly climbed down the bed going to hug his father's knees. Elie picked him up high in the air as he giggled.

"How is my little prince?" He asked as David gave him a big hug, his small hands wrapping around Elie's neck and him snuggling closer and breathing out softly. Elie knew his fragile state and how much he loved staying closer to him unlike Deborah.

"What's wrong bubear?" Elie asked in concern.
