Chapter 5: Training for the tournament
"Where is the nearest dojo?" asked Shasha. "Miss Williams, aren't you gonna bring a change of clothes to change?"
"Come I'll show you the nearest dojo," said Nina leading the way into the house much to Shasha's surprise. "And yes I have a change of clothes."
Shasha followed Nina upstairs and up again. At last they came to the rooftop of the house. There were punching bags hanging from pillars and some training dummies. The walls were high but the sky can still be seen. Shasha stared open mouthed. Nina saw Shasha's face and started laughing. Nina had a dojo in her house. She always trained in her house.
Nina and Shasha trained with all their heart. In the end, they decided to spar each other so that they can train with a fighting opponent. It had started raining. Nina just calmly took out a remote and pressed a button. Glass panels came out from inside the high walls and formed a roof! Shasha was even more bewildered. They spared and Nina defeated Shasha.
"Thanks for the fight," said Nina letting out a hand to Shasha. "You do have pluck in you."
"Thanks, Miss Williams," said Shasha, holding Nina's hand while getting up. "That was a good fight."
"Call me Nina," said Nina, smiling at Shasha. "You are my friend now."
Shasha smiled. They went off to shower and then they left the dojo and decided that they should go for breakfast. They went to a tearoom. The rain had stopped by then. They ordered pancakes and some scones with milk tea. Nina loves tea with milk. Shasha loves it too. They enjoyed their breakfast. They left the tearoom and went shopping.
"You haven't shopped in Japan, Shasha," said Nina. "It's heaven for a shopperholic."
"Hmm ya don't say..." said Shasha. "I love shopping. Anyway I still do need a few things."
So they went to the nearby mall and shopped for clothes, shoes and makeup. Shasha didn't buy much makeup as she's trying to save money. Then they went to the mall drugstore. They bought a bunch of stuff there. Shasha was short with some skincare products and bought so much stuff that the receipt almost touched the floor!
"At this rate I'm not gonna have any money by the end of the week!" said Shasha. "I'm gonna go broke."
They went back to Nina's mansion and they had a facial. Nina had some facial masks at home so they used them to refresh and moisturise their faces. They watched a funny movie together. They had lunch at home because they were lazy to go out. Shasha prepared some chicken curry with rice and some vegetables because Shasha likes to cook Malaysian food and wanted Nina to try it too. So they ate their meal and liked it. Nina liked it too but it was a little too spicy for her. So she got a glass of milk for herself and one for Shasha. After that they went to a nearby massage centre and had a good massage. They then went back home and played video games. They played Street Fighter on Nina's game console that was connected to her tv. Shasha played as Chun Li while Nina played as Cammy. At this point, Shasha won 3 rounds and Nina won 3 rounds. They played till dinner time and ordered a pizza. The delivery guy came and delivered it. They shared the pizza among themselves. They ate the pizza and then went to sleep. Before sleeping, Nina said something to Shasha.
"Thank you for the day, Shasha," said Nina. "I've never had so much fun in like years."
Shasha just smiled. Then Nina continued.
"You have to meet all the other contestants tomorrow," she said. "You'll like them. There are contestants from all over the world. Some of them are about your age too."
"I hope I'll like them," said Shasha. "I'll meet them tomorrow."
So they said good night and went to their respective rooms. They changed into their sleeping clothes and crawled into their beds. They slept peacefully that night. Nina set her alarm as she has to go to work the next day.
