Chapter 69: Chapter 38

Mrs. Douglas had just gotten through with her shift when she stepped out of the hospital to call her husband. Her last neuro-surgery had been a tough one and had lasted for ten hours, but it was a success and she hoped to celebrate with her husband for the night. 

"Hey honey, guess what?" she said into the phone just as am ambulance approached and sped to a halt in front of her. 

"Get the doctors!" the medics screamed as they shoved open the ambulance door. 

Gemma Douglas released her phone immediately, upon spotting the flowery printed shirt she got her son for his previous birthday, now soiled with blood as they wheeled the badly injured patient out of the back of their van. 

"That is my son! That's my Oliver!" she screamed, forgetting about her phone which was still on the ground. 

She chased after the gurney upon which he was being wheeled until the doctors prohibited her from going into the theatre with them.
