Chapter 5: Chapter 5 : Gossips
After returning to the station, Axion and Rum went to the cafeteria. Many girls often come to Axion and Rum to ask about Kaizo. They thought they can get information about Kaizo since Axion and Rum are one team with him. Rum often join the gossips about Kaizo. But Axion choose to be careless about it.
"Many girls looking forward to get close to Kaizo. If I get too close with Kaizo, the girls would get jealous and start hunting me." Axion thought to herself. "It'd be better to stay away. Besides, it'd be painful if I hope too much from him."
"Hey, girls." Said Spicy Gluten as she wrap her arms on Axion and Rum's shoulder.
Axion and Rum turns to see her.
It's true that the girls decide Kaizo belongs to everyone since all the girls want to be his girlfriend. But Spicy Gluten think differently. She is one of the popular girls in the station. Possibly the most popular girl. She even have her own group. She's sly and full of trick. Ambitious to be number one. Including about getting Kaizo's attention. She make sure no one is close to Kaizo closer than her. If any girl wants to get close to Kaizo, they need to go past her first.
"So, how's the mission?" Spicy Gluten ask.
Even though Axion and Rum on the same team as Kaizo, Spicy Gluten make sure that she's still one step ahead on getting Kaizo. Afterall, neither Rum or Axion is interested on taking Kaizo as their boyfriend. Rum join the gossips just because she likes to look at the girls. Rum said the girls are like mermaids waiting for their jolly sailor bold when they talk about Kaizo.
"Yeah. I'm about to join the girls and gossip." Said Rum, imitating a girly tone.
"Great. I'm looking forward to your stories." Said Spicy Gluten as she walks in front of them like a leader.
The girls are excited once Rum enters the cafeteria.
"Rum! You're finally here." Said Yuxiang.
"Come on. Sit. We can't wait to hear your story." Olivia adds.
Rum chuckle "Gee. Calm down." Said Rum as she sits down.
Most of the time, Axion would just sit beside Rum with her mouth shut. She would act not interested as if she's not there.
"I heard you get trouble during your mission on Zeoclite?" Tiramisu asked.
"Yeah. But we can handle it. You know the story. Beast, caves and all." Said Rum.
Rum tell them the story as detailed as she can. Although she exaggerates the adventurous part.
"...and Kaizo fall into an underground cave, with Axion." Said Rum as she looked at Axion.
Chill shiver down Axion's spine. The girls gasp and stare at Axion. Spicy Gluten looked at Axion sharp.
Axion look around with anxiety. "Uhh… hehehehe." She awkwardly giggles as she lowered her head.
"What happened in there?" Milt asked.
"Tell us Axion." Mithra insist.
"Keep the story as faded as you can." Axion thought to herself.
"We almost drowned but we managed to swim up. We're at risk of getting dehydrated and getting hypothermia. But, again, we survived." Said Axion. Making it simple and short.
"I heard he's wounded. Was he okay?" Olivia asked.
"Yeah. He's strong. He can take care of himself." Said Axion lightly as she put a french fries in her mouth.
"Did anything... happen between you two?" Yuxiang whispers as she lean closer on the table.
The girls move closer to Axion.
"What... thing?" Axion ask. Acting like a fool.
"You know... did you get close to him? Did you hug each other to get warm?" Mithra add.
"No. I can use heat and fire magic." Said Axion as she summons a little fire on her finger.
Few girls sigh in distress.
"Why would you use that? You can make a reason so you can get close to each other." Macaron scold.
"I was stuck in a cave. Anything other than staying alive is not important." Said Axion.
Spicy gluten smirk. Thinking that Axion won't be a threat between her and Kaizo.
The girls sighed in pity. "If I were you, I'd be lucky." Said Milt.
"Yeah. It's not everyday you can be alone with Kaizo" Tiramisu adds.
The girls face palm in distress, knowing Axion is too innocent and naive to not interested in Kaizo in a romantic way.
"What? What's wrong with thinking about my life?" Ask Axion in confusion.
"You're so innocent." Said Toso.
"Do you think Kaizo likes innocent girl?" Said Olivia.
"I don't think so. He likes impressive stuff." Mithra answered.
"He's so stiff and serious." Milt add.
"Yeah. Didn't you see how he's so obsessed on getting strong." Said Yuxiang.
The girls nod in agreement.
"A question, Axion. Do you not find Kaizo attractive?" Tiramisu asked.
Her question bring interest to the girls.
"Hmm... Now that you mention it, you don't seem to be interested in Kaizo like we do." said Olivia.
"Hmm… He is interesting to me. But not in the way I want him to be my boyfriend." Said Axion.
"Whaaa... Why?" Ask Macaron.
"I don't know. I'm just not into these kind of stuff." Said Axion.
"You're not interested in romantic stuff?" Milt asked.
Axion shrug.
"My... You might going to waste your youth if you don't find something romantic." Said Tiramisu.
"Youth isn't just about romance. I just don't like the idea of depending on man." Said Axion. Putting up a strong act.
The girls wowed.
Macaron sighed. "I want to see Kaizo." She mumbled.
"Me too." Toso add.
"Do you think he'd be delighted if we visit him in the infirmary?" Milt asked.
"I doubt. He's hard to get close to." Said Yuxiang. "I'm amazed, Qingtuan have the courage to approach Kaizo before."
Spicy Gluten smirks.
"Well, if you want to visit him, just visit." Said Rum as she munches her dinner.
"It's easy for you because you're in the same team as Kaizo." Said Macaron. "It will be awkward if we just come with no legit reason."
