Chapter 1

It's afternoon in a suburban neighborhood a man wakes up from his slumber groggily with a long yawn eyes half closed. Forcing his body up he makes his way out of the dark room with only a spec of light peaking in from the edge of the window blinds to guide his path. Slowly making his way to the bathroom step by step ever so slowly he arrives and flicks the lights on. Blinded by the bright light taking a second to adapt to the brightness before slowly completely opening his eyes and looked into the mirror. Another few second pass as the man no the boy realizes what he sees. What he saw was not what he was expecting". WHAT THE FUCK" he screams before stumbling backwards and hitting his head on the closed door behind him. Ignoring the slight pain he stared at what he what he saw in the mirror with absolutely befuddlement. He saw himself but not the same man that he saw yesterday when he last saw his reflection, rather he saw a boy, no he was the boy! The boys face was filled with youth, smooth skin and a slight tanned look, as well as hazel colored eyes that could ever so slightly reveal his reflection within the reflection and the boy still a boy along with dark black hair filled with vigor. This was his face but from years ago before the struggles of his life and choices took hold. "I must be dreaming" the man now a boy said quietly with a confused look on his handsome youthful face. Nearly an hour has passed now and the boy now knows this isn't a dream no matter how hard he wished it was so. He slapped his face again and again, dunked his face in cold water, ran throughout the house just cause but nothing, he was awake but he wasn't the same. During this time he learned not only his face but whole body was different, it was similar to his former younger body but not the same from the past. Back in middle school he was always on the tubby side but not fat and the same in high school, chunky. This body though, was thin and looked more refine then his actual body from school and taller too, even taller then he was yesterday as a grown man. While not a huge growth the boy knew he was as an adult of five feet and eight inches but now he was almost six feet tall! While going over his thoughts he also remembered he has some acne during school nothing major but anything was a big deal in high school but his current face was clean without a scar, no one would ever believe there was such an imperfection that once blemished this face . He didn't become his younger self but a better version of what could have been, while the changes weren't huge by themselves it still was a shock to find a world of difference between the two. "It's like I've been reborn, but how?". This boy was a man of twenty five years but now he looked like he was fifteen. Not only that but an improved version of who he once was which kind of irked him given how he could of looked like this back in the day but that's besides the point. The rest of the day was focused online to find how this was possible to little to no avail with anything to magic, God and acupuncture. "What could I have done " he spoke to himself thinking of what was different from his regular schedule and then it came, the one and only thing different. The shooting star. Late last night wandering aimlessly in sadness from the endless sky it fell and with it a desperate wish. "Did the star grant me this body ?" He asked to no one looking down upon his youthful hand with a confused look in his eye. Moments of silence later he takes a deep breath before letting out the air trapped within him "Now what "he said to no one. While his face could be recognized how could he go to his part time jobs, if anything they think I'm my own little brother and what if they or others asked questions then what? This body changes everything and could lead to a world of trouble what if the government finds out? Then what? While the man who was now a boy was not one to mistrust the government given his current situation who could say what was guaranteed and what wasn't. Then came the door alarm. Scaring the living shit out of me I actually jump up from the coach I had been doing my research and deep thinking on for hours. Embarrassed and thankful no one saw this overreaction I approached the door and look through the sight glass expecting maybe a child hoping to mow the lawn for cash or a delivery man doing his part in society only to find a scene that makes me suck in a cold breath of air. Through the spy hole I see not a monster but something far worst, a man in a suit with a smile. "Hello Mr. Reggin have you made any wishes recently"?
