He had more questions than answers. "Does it mean you're giving us your blessing?"

Father Chen only grunted. That was his answer. 

The two men discussed a little while longer before Xue Guangxi was asked to leave the study. Outside, he met the anxiously waiting Kang Sola.

 "So what happened?"

"I'm not so sure." He scratched his temple. "It wasn't so bad. Yet, it isn't too good either."

"Hmm. It's getting late. You should take a rest." She took in the haggardness of his features. "Sleep here. In your room, of course."

Xue Guangxi let out a soft laugh. "Not tonight." He brushed his lips against her forehead. "I'll go home at my flat but I'll be back for breakfast tomorrow and drive you to your office."

"En. Okay. Good night." She stood by the doorway, waving her hand at Xue Guangxi across the street inside his car. A sweet smile was kept plastered on her tiny face.
