Chapter 41: Mew sees a Minotaur
After passing by a lot of adventurers along with the blonde swordswoman Ais and her team, Mew had returned to base form and become invisible. He quietly followed them a bit to the stairway up and observed them from the side. When Ais looked his way, Mew waved. Remembering he was invisible, Mew lowered his paw. Yet what he didn't expect was for Ais to return the wave.
Feeling a bit better, Mew continued to scour the floor Ais and co had just gone to in search for places he hadn't been yet. This floor had been surprisingly empty after Ais's group had passed by, even monsters and other adventurers had become scarce. That was pretty odd, as it had already been a while since they had passed through.
Hearing a loud roar in far away from him along with the sound of battle, Mew moved around a bit in search for the origin. There shouldn't be any big monsters on the ninth floor, but there were always things that could surprise Mew, which made everything a lot more fun.
Hurrying onward at a fast pace, Mew passed by Ais's group in a blur and sped towards the sound. Ais's group didn't seem to have noticed it yet, but that wasn't odd as Mew's hearing was excellent unlike that of other races.
Arriving at the scene, Mew discovered a monster he hadn't personally seen before. It was known as a Minotaur, a big bull like monster that walked on two legs and wielded weapons. It was currently fighting with the white rabbit.
Looking on from the side, Mew was interested in how the boy moved. It didn't seem like he would lose as he was still holding his ground. Not long later, Ais's group arrived as well as the wolf boy stepped forward to stop the fight.
Glaring shortly at the boy, Mew continued to watch after he saw Ais stop the boy as well. Mew even had the urge to grab something to eat and enjoy the show. Too bad there were others watching as well.
With each strike the boy parried the blow of the Minotaur. At some point one of his knives broke and he managed to take the enemies weapon. With a might blow from the stolen weapon, a huge gash appeared on the Minotaur's chest.
As th minotaur charged, the boy managed to hold him of a it by sacrificing the enemies weapon and plunged his own blade in the Minotaurs abdomen.
Everytime the Minotaur reached out to hit the boy, the boy would sent blasts of fire into the Minotaurs body until it was completely engulfed and burst apart in purple smoke. Like that the boy passed out on his feet.
Cheering at the achievement of the boy, Mew happily circled around him in the air. The elf called Riveria once checked to see what the status on his back said, saying All Ability S.
Poking a few times at the boys head to make sure he was out cold, Mew made a pose and took a picture of him an the boy. The others were also visible on the back ground, while Ais had a small smile on her lips. Mew had took the picture from a certain angle so that the camera and himself weren't visible to the others. Turning back invisible, Mew happily began to hover about again.
Congratulating the boy for his achievement once more, Mew healed all his wounds as a small gift, along with a small hugg on his head. Feeling a pointed stare coming his way, Mew met Ais eyes. Mew smiled as he waved at Ais. Pointing at the boy and then at Ais while tilting his head, it was as if Mew said: 'Will you take him with you?'
Ais nodded as if she really understood. Nodding in return, Mew released the boys head. It was at this moment Mew discovered the boys name, hearing Ais answer her team mates at what his name was. Bell Cranel.
