Chapter 7: 5 YEARS-PART ONE
It has been 5 years since the zoo incident. I have made significant progress in all of my aspects of life. I have gotten taller with lean body less baby fat. I now look less cute but more mature than peers. I have grown my hair till shoulder level. Well long hair is necessary for stronger a wizard, that is common sense. I also grew closer with my family. So that's good .I have also socialising with various kids and people I meet in park to practise conversations skills. While doing this I also gained much information about surrounding countries and some miscellaneous news from elderly.
Ministry are really going on about cooperation with muggle and muggleborn. Especially various rights for muggleborn like reserving some seats for them in ministry department. Seems like current minister is against cause of discrimination caused due to blood status. There is increasing tension between ministry and purebloods. No wonder pureblood sided with voldemort in later stages because he promised blood purity is way to go to progress magical society. They will be in for surprise when he starts killing anyone that objects foe or ally huh.
It won't be problem to me since I am half blood. And for voldemort it is quite a bit time till he comes in power. Again coming back to topic of my progress. I have been practising martial arts and swordsmanship with my teacher .Oh guess who is my teacher? It is Jonathan Moody ,uncle of alastor moody who is 3 older than me. I was quite stunned when I heard the name. Then father kept rambling that he is quite swordsmans and martial artist.I looked at him as if he was idiot.Of course he will be good at combat arts,he is from fucking moody clan* ,who are said to make best aurors in history. Asking him to just teach me martial arts is waste, I have to learn duelling from him.
It took 2 years to warm him to me and took me as duelling apprentice. It was not easy i tell you. I had to first get to my father agree which was pain but little bit of tantrum and stubbornness got him in. Convincing mother was easy just bit of crying and done.It also helped that sisters wanted to learn so reluctantly they allowed. That is also how I 'officially' started to use my grandfather's wand as it seems the wand stores in Britain don't sell wand to children underage of 11 years. Then I thought how were pureblood heirs so good at wand movements.Answer was that they similarly to me ,had ancestral wand passed down there family. And when they reach 11 years age, they buy new wands.
So from there on I started spell casting with wands and incantation.But I also diligently practised wandless magic. As result my magical reserves have grown a big.I also have good control over my magic due to constant practise with wandless casting.But I was disappointed for bit. I had theory which I remembered from fanfics I read if I exercised my body I could expand my reserve faster but it was not true . Except getting fit and agile which is useful in duels , it did not change much. So it was bummer.Well cant except to get everything right.
But well At least I can defend myself .I also got good at dodging spells .Also included lot of agile moves in my duels and made attacks from all direction possible so my opponent cannot pin point for sure where I am exactly. But it is always thwarted by strategies teacher brews up. But it also made come up with various plan for different types of opponent after countless duels.
The ones who go for overwhelm you with spells dodge and let me run out of gas. Those who go for knocking you out with low consumption spells and play long game, adapt and trick them with strategies and Knock them out. Now then, those that are adapting and strategizing as you are they are most difficult opponents.The only way to defeat them is to out wit them or retreat.This is one of lessons given by teacher. I learned quite about fighting from him.
As for theoretical knowledge ,I have read all Hogwarts curriculm and I can get outstanding in it. But for practical casting, I can cast with wand till 4th year charms and transfiguration. It has kind of wall due to insufficient magical capacity.But no matter how much try I cannot seem to break this wall blocking magical capacity. When I asked it about it to my teacher who I also told him about me casting higher year spells. He said that probably it will break when I reach 11 years old at my first magical maturity. Hearing a unfamiliar term I asked him about.
Teacher:"Gilderoy, Why do you think magical school accept students at 11 year old?It is because your body starts to adapt to your magic.And after it if one does not receive magical education,then they wont be properly control there magic which leads to frequent magical accidents."
Me:"alright I got it. But you said first magical maturity when is second magical maturity?"
Teacher:"It is at 17 years. And before you ask yes there is 3 rd magical maturity but it is kind of different for everyone. Some achieve it in There 30s,some achieve in 60s.Some never even achieve there in life.No one knows what are condition for achieving this, it kind of happens.Now get back to practise accuracy of your spells."
So I am waiting for 11th birthday.I did not just waste my time waiting.Also modified spells while casting wandlessly. But so far I can only make the light summoned by lumos change colour.
Oh a interesting discovery I had when was I was attempting transfiguration of living to non living objects.I found that it was not displacement of molecular arrangement rather it was changing reality of that being. After asking it to teacher he said that it just changes its physicality of a being into object but its 'essence of living' remains the same. That is why it reverts back to its orginal being ,after a specific time. But it is not for non living to living as you just make golem or statute looking like being then using animation charms you can make it move.As long as you can provide magic it moves and acts like living . But it is not living as it does not contain 'essence of living' which is not something anyone can give only one can do would probably by ancient gods.This does not applies to transfiguration in same domain like turing matchstick into needle ,does not need constant supply of magic but a simple[ untransfiguration spell 'Reparifarge'] same for all transfiguration.Similar to living to living does not require much energy.I came conclusion that it must be because we don't change the principle and law of world making the objects.This can also been seen by rule in transfiguration that you can transfigure a object or being into another one of same mass as original object.
But still it makes you wonder how magic can affect reality to this extent. Question is it that the extent of it?
A/n:Clan:Describing as family would not be good as the 'moody' family has produced many aurors.They were like military family you know so I went with clan.
