Chapter 6: Recovery
POV GILDEROY LOCKHART
I woke up and looked around to exactly where I was.It looked like a medicinal ward .I sat up albeit quite difficulty.It was my first time near death experience.At that time It did not seem much , must be adrenaline flowing but now that I think about it was pretty scary.Remembering those gigantic horns coming at me,I can't imagine what would have happened.Why would have to jump between them?It was 50-50 chance that I would die in that scenario.I was quite lucky you know.I should have just turned a blind eye.It is not like anyone would say anything to a 4 year child.But then a part of me questioned 'could I watch someone die in front of eyes knowing full well that I could at least try saving them?'.Suddenly remembering stories what happened to hero's,I concluded that BAD THINGS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE.
Suddenly my family came into sight and saw me sitting on bed. I was going to say then out of nowhere my sisters run at me hugged me and started crying.I didn't know how to respond so I hugged back .They reluctantly let me go after mom reprimanded to them that it could hurt me.
me:"It is alright I feel great and I don't feel any pain.By the what happened after you know I fainted?How long was I out?Where are we "
Father:"You were asleep for a night.We are in St.mungo's hospital. Well after you fainted gabby and sylvie called for help.We rushed after hearing their voices to find you gabby holding you in hug with her foot bleeding in front of a petrified bicorn.Then I lifted you and gabby took to healer stationed at zoo directly.He said that you just extreme magical exhaustion[EME].Son you did you good saving your sister and I am proud of you for that.But do not do magic that completes drains your magic reserve you can have some disorder in future or worst case scenario you would die due to burden it causes."
mother:"dear what ominous things are you saying to your bedridden son!Gillie don't hear anything he is saying you take care and get well "
me:"Mom I am quite fine.Look!"
I get out of bed and jump once or twice to show I am fit as horse.Seeing me move around they relaxed a bit.
me:"Gabby are you alright?"
Gabby:"I am fine.Are you hungry gillie?You didn't eat all night?"
Hearing that question I just realized I do feel quite famished.I nodded.She smiled hearing that and took a lunchbox from bag and started feeding me.I was surprised But I didn't stop her.Seeing her smiling and feeding me with loving expression I felt something swelled in my heart ,as if struck by epiphany, it kind of answered of questions I was having previously.That No matter how much I want I can't abandon my emotions. It is what makes me human.Hell even emotions affect magic that just shows how much strength they have .I will use that to climb to top and Exact revenge to those wrong me.I will slay my enemies and I love as I wish.but that does not mean I will be hero neither will I be villian .I WILL DO AS WISH. With magic as the tool only I ever would need.
I finished my lunch and fed my sisters some too after listening they also didn't eat anything.Now let's initiate next part of plan.
Me:"father I wanted to learn martial arts and swordsmanship.If I had learned It then I could have reached gabby in time and took her back in time instead of using magic and fainting and causing worry to everyone."
I looked at father with determined eyes with hint of bashfulness.Well I had to say some more things and little bit of puppy eyes and joint request from gabby and sylvie to join class to get father agree to request.after that My parents said that they will take us floren's ice cream parlour for treat.
Hearing this I got excited.Seeing my excitement all of them started laughing and I had to act bashful again.But I was really happy internally.I was going to visit Diagon Alley finally.Even after been here for 6 months I could not visit it.
After filing some papers and healer checking me again for any problems.They let me go.After which we went walking to diagon alley. It was kind of medieval style shopping district.With shops on both sides and at end of there was the pub leaking cauldron.We first went to eat Ice cream after which they each of us 10 galleons to spend and as we want come back here in hour.
Seeing my luck was good,I was left alone. I went to second hand books shop immediately rather than flourish and blotts.For 1.it will be cheap 2.there must be some books with notes in it 3.I might find some obscure treasured journal .I went inside the shop hoping I would get some treasured journal.It was all good in cleanliness inside the shop but the books were quite shabby and dull, well there second hand books.But I started checking it out.Not many of books were useful but I still choose one I would need.As I was searching a book fell from top shelf I picked it up. And To my suprise it was a beginner guide to dark arts which was covered with cover of adventures of a wandering wizard story books.Good Now I only have to make sure my parents do not take this book and check it.To cover it,I has to also other buy books on other adventures.While looking around I also found a copy of journal on how emotions affect on magic but it was incomplete.Finding it Intresting,I also bought it.
After Paying for books which costed 7 gallleons.Huh they are quite cheap.I then made my way to where we suppose to meet.I also noticed some shops having christmas decoration and in all a jolly mood was in atmosphere.
After reaching the spot I saw my parents and sisters already waiting there with worried faces.But after seeing my face in crowd they relaxed.
Mother:"gillie how long did you take ?We were rally starting to get worried you know."
Father:"Okay okay calm down honey.by the way what did buy with money I gave you?"
me:"I bought story books and theory books on magic from second hand store."
father:"why did you Buy books on magic?why from second hand books ?"
me:"well I wanted at least learn theory of magic and spell casting and the books at hand will be not enough.As for second hand store because it was cheap there so I could buy more books from there for a lesser price."
Father did not find any error in that logic, sighed.Suddenly,
Father:"Oh yes your mother and I talked about you guys learning swordsmanship and martial arts.My friend who is retired battle mage will teach you.He lives in countryside so either your mother or me will take you there.It will be for 3 days in week as he has agreed at that timing.Gabby,Sylvie will learn in it christmas and summer holiday as for gillie you can attend normally but take in factor you are also studying potions.So make sure you still want to continue either classes.Dont overwork yourself."
I nod and strengthen my resolve.We start walking towards home.
So,Time passes by.....
