Somewhere in Zeeland
(Unknown time)
As I continued to plan for the future and look through my memories, I came upon a shocking realization. I remembered everything as if my mind was photographic, and my learning capability was amazingly fast!
"System, why is my learning speed faster than my previous life's?" I asked, "Does this have anything to do with the system powers?"
{No, not exactly, since the user's brain is still developing at a fast rate, your learning capability will be much higher right now, there is also the possibility that it will remain as you grow older. It depends on how much you use your brain, though. An example would be how babies can learn how to talk and walk in just a few years. You can also purchase the photographic memory System Power for similar effects.}
"I guess I should start learning as much as possible right now," I thought.
Over the next couple of weeks, I sifted through most of my memories. I was trying to find anything that could be useful, such as medieval life and customs that I might have read about or seen in a documentary. Sadly, there was absolutely nothing other than some movies that had medieval stereotypes that were probably inaccurate. The reason I was looking for this is that the system told me that, currently, the world I was about to be born into has striking similarities to 12th-century Europe.
"Can you tell me about the System Powers?" I asked the system, "they could probably be quite useful."
{The current System powers include Map, World Map, Resource Locator, Resource Molder, Danger Alert!, Blueprint Creator, Extra Inventory, Photographic Memory, and Dynamic Vision.}
"It seems the names give some of the details," I said, "Can you explain danger alert and blueprint creator?"
I had heard from the system that Zeeland's choice of a king was different from most hereditary monarchies of medieval earth. It was the king who chose the most competent son to be king after his death, and not the firstborn prince who would be the next king. The fight for the crown would probably cause fierce competition between the princes, so I would not want to get killed unknowingly. Danger alert would likely alert me if I were about to die, which would be helpful. Of course, this would only be true if it was as the title suggested.
The reason I also asked about the blueprint creator was that I wanted to start on blueprints for technologies as early as I could. I did not want to waste valuable time making blueprints for days on end.
{Danger Alert!: If a poisonous substance or a person with the intention to harm the user gets within 50 meters of him, the system will alert the host. The cost of this is 2,000 SP, and it eventually can be upgradable.}
"Yes, this is just what I need!" I thought.
I don't think I will need to use the resource locator or molder tool yet because I don't even have anything to use them for. The danger alert function is precisely what I need, though. I can use it to survive long enough to use the other system functions.
{Blueprint Creator: The user can create a space that can materialize his ideas and print out his finished blueprints. The area is sixty times slower than the outside world, and you can only use it once a day (real-world time). The user can also use it to do a couple of tests on the blueprint. The cost is 2,000 SP, and it is not upgradable}.
"That is different than I expected, but still just as good," I thought.
The name suggested to me that it would make a blueprint out of your ideas, but instead, it is more versatile. It materializes your thoughts and lets you test them. I will definitely buy these.
"Can I buy both of these," I asked, "I will save the last 1,000 SP, though."
{The System Powers have now been transferred to you. You have 1,000 SP left.}
"System, how do I open blueprint creator?" I asked.
I wanted to test out how it works since I want to start making blueprints as soon as possible.
{You say the words open blueprint creator}
I did this, and a few seconds later, I could feel myself distancing from the world. When my eyes opened, I could see a white room with almost no furniture other than a desk.
{Think about anything, and it will materialize in this room. As long as it is not too big and you can understand most aspects of it.}
I did as the system said, and I envisioned a lightbulb with a small generator powering it, as the room was quite dark. Instantly the room got brighter with the newly created lightbulb on the roof.
{To create a blueprint, you must understand everything about the object. The blueprint is the only thing that can materialize in the real world, as a sketch on paper. The room next to this one is the testing room as well.}
Knowing all of this, I decided to start on my first blueprint. This first thing I was going to try to make was something that I barely understood compared to my knowledge of a generator, so I wanted to start with it first.
I was going to try to create some sort of blast furnace. I was not going to try to create steel yet, but I still wanted cast-iron.
Hi, SunkenSpaceMan here again. I am writing chapters faster than I thought I would, so there will likely be at least one chapter a day this week.
Have some ideas about my story? Comment it and let me know.
Thank you for reading my third chapter!
