Chapter 29: pain

In school,

"Alright, today is the sixth day we will be completing a series of stimulating activities separating those with gifts and those without, from there it will further classify until you are the age of fifteen your class.

As students attending this school, it does not matter which family you come from it all depends on your skills! Now begin!"

I grimaced even though I am a wolf and saw humans as a lower species I was no different than them, perhaps even inferior because I could not wield any power. Around me, the children used their skills those with strength base powers, others who were able to heal, with traces of elemental powers wield small flames, ice, water, air and metal though a base in order for them to even use their powers.

There I stood, unable to do those except my footwork and subpar speed. Perhaps my nose would be useful, but wouldn't that be just laughable?

So I stepped aside to stand among those unable to use a skill.

"Hey, so you don't have a super skill as well?"

I blinked at the human girl who stepped forward she had a pretty face dark green hair almond-shaped light green eyes with long dark lashes, a small nose small lips and a heart-shaped face coupled with pale skin, she was tall at least compared to me giving my already small for an intimidating feel.

I didn't like and in turn, didn't like her, but I had perfected the art of presenting an innocent face to the humans, so I blinked at her once again.

"Ah, you are not so talkative, OK anyway since you are on this side I suppose you don't have a super skill."

She smiled at me but I turned away, focusing on the children varying from eight to ten years old battling among each other. It was intense with some even being knocked across the room coughing up mouthfuls of blood or even passing out.

"Leave her, she is an antisocial girl to besides who would want to befriend a girl who had the nerve to cut her hair and walk around proudly,"

I sighed to myself this girl was like a bane to my existence never have I been in her way, never have I even spoken to her but for some reason, she just kept throwing stones my way.

"Guai is new leave her, she is probably just shy,"

Another girl spoke.

"Without hair, you must still admit that young miss Guai still possesses that delicate look most girls tend to be constantly vying for, with those wide eyes and pouting mouth."

A boy spoke up suddenly.

I bent my head and tried to look smaller than I actually was, hoping not to be bothered and everything will be over soon.

"Alright, those without skills will be staying on school grounds after a year for one full year, without breaks. Your respective relatives will be then sent notice after, and then you will be prepared for training. Class dismissed,"

I went to follow the retreating students by falling into line, but a pain unlike any other gripped me suddenly incapacitating me.

This feeling, such pain I opened my mouth a roared uncaring that my wolf's side was showing it was so great that I felt like my heart, brain and throat were being squeezed.

I fell on my knees, my vision blurring, tears falling, the length of my cheek dripping down my chin.
