Chapter 62: Pieces
My swollen stomach makes my feet ache. I waddle to the restroom for the thirtieth time today. When I enter the bedroom again there are candles lit and soft music playing.
"What in the world?" I look around to notice the ground covered in flower petals.
"Happy 3 month anniversary love!" Indicum is laying stark naked on the bed with a single rose in his mouth.
"Oh my goodness!" I squeal, laughing at his boldness.
The past two months have been a blur. Since Indicum found out I'm carrying our child, he's been super attentive and supportive. We've gotten to know each other a little better but we're not quite on common ground.
He stands and saunters toward me, only pausing when his chest hair tickles my face.
His dark green eyes let me know Eques is in control.
"I am grateful for every second I spend with you, little one." His hands grabs my waist and pulls me in for an intimate embrace. "I will do everything in my power to keep you and our child safe."
I smile up at him, "Thank you Indicum. You've been so generous with your love. I appreciate you."
"And I love you." He murmurs. Although I have yet to say it back, it warms my heart to hear the sentiment.
"Ack!" I cry. The baby kicks harshly, probably breaking another rib.
Instantly Indicum kneels, his hands on my stomach. "Calm down, little one."
Of course the baby listens to him. I can feel my rib stitching itself back together. Indicum notices my discomfort and lifts me into his arms.
"I can walk!" I giggle in protest as he sets me gently on the bed.
His hands find my feet and he begins massaging them firmly. A moan escapes me as I relish his soothing touch. After massaging both feet thoroughly he kisses my ankle. He works his way up my leg slowly kissing each one.
"Indicum, we haven't -"
"Shhh, let me cherish you."
Before I can protest he's kissing between my legs and I gasp. My heart is racing and I can feel him smirk against me.
"Impatient as ever." He whispers making my core even wetter.
"Please!" I whisper unable to control the hormones coursing through me making my lust tenfold.
He hovers over me, a hand on each side on my face. His eyes search mine and I nod biting my lip. Slowly he enters me and I moan in ecstasy. I can feel his adoration through the mate bond. It's overwhelming as he slowly thrusts in and out, satisfying the ache.

"They'll be left unguarded tonight from midnight to 4 AM. I didn't assign anyone to guard them. It should be easy to come in undetected." A pause. "Yes, she's due any day now."
A few pleasantries and the call ended. No one can take my Alpha and get away with it.

A sudden pain coursed through my body. The baby is coming.
Quickly Ignis was by my side.
"I've mind-linked the pack doctor. She'll be here soon."
"I think somethings wrong." I whisper and Ignis' eyes appraise me.
Quickly a blanket is laid over my lap and I'm cradled gently against his chest. He's running full speed somewhere.
When he stops, I realize he's outside the hospital. The doctor helps me on a gurney and starts wheeling me away.
"Ignis!" I scream as I can no longer feel my legs.
He follows the gurney with controlled emotions. Worry, anger, and something else cross his face before it's completely wiped clean.
"She losing a lot of blood." The nurse says and the doctor is already injecting me with something bluish.
"Ignis, wait outside." The doctor orders.
"No, please!" I scream as another pain courses through me.
Ignis grabs my hand and cradles my face. "I'm so sorry."
I can see his anguish and he releases my hand and waits outside the door. The last thing I see before my world becomes dark is his purple eyes hollow and haunted.

Triplets. How a human could sustain this long is beyond me. Three healthy baby wolf pups. Well, I assume they're Ignis' as they were mates. The pups all have his purple eyes.
Not being able to save Carmen was not a surprise to the nurses. As a doctor, I felt helpless being unable to save her gentle soul. May the Goddess watch over her, even though she's a human.
Poor Ignis, the loss of his mate will be excruciating. I am uncertain if he will be able to parent these three pups without her. Better send them to the nursery with Stella. She's got her own fresh pup she's looking after there.
Pulling the sheet over Carmen's face I noticed she is unmarked. Strange. I'll have to ask him about it when he's of sane mind.

I lay completely and utterly satisfied next to Regina. Her eyelashes curling against her cheeks as she sleeps. The clock chimes midnight and a feeling of unease keeps me awake.
*Aqua?*
*The fu- I mean what do you want, Alpha?* She grumbled, clearly not asleep and quite probably in the middle of mating.
*Let's go over the surprise for tomorrow.*
*For heavens sake we've gone over every last detail! Either way she's gonna be pissed. Regina literally hates surprises and unnecessary parties.*
I growl at her through the link. *This party is necessary! It's to celebrate our pup.*
*Yeah, but Regina…* Aqua kept talking through the link but I was focusing on the slow turn of our bedroom doorknob.
