Chapter 43: Truth
Rex runs to me and engulfs me in his large arms. Lifting me off my feet, he twirls me in a circle. I realize then, I'm naked and covered in blood. He takes his shirt off and places it quickly over my head.
"Pretty sure I just gave the audience a show." Rex snarls under his breath.
"The blood was covering my lady bits." I laugh and he too starts to chuckle.
Nausea rolls over me abruptly and I vomit on the ground, barely missing Rex's shoes.
"Still not feeling well?" Rex smooths the wisps of hair that have escaped my long braid away from my face.
"I'm pregnant." I blurt out.
Relief washes over me. It feels like a breath, I didn't know I was holding, was released.

"I'm pregnant." She says and time stands still.
In that moment, I can see it. The glow of confidence and strength emanating from her very being. She's going to make one hell of a mother. Her shoulders sag like a weight has been lifted from her. I can feel the relief course through my veins. It's her relief, not mine. Anxiety takes over.
"Are you sure?"
She nods apprehensively.
I kneel before her and put my hands on her stomach. "Hey there little pup. It's your dad. I can't wait to meet you."
A hiccup sob escapes her lips and I look up to see her eyes filled with tears.
"What's wrong?" I stand and pull her into a firm hug.
"I'm just so scared." She whispers, and I hear the underlying current of nervousness in her voice.
"There's nothing to fear." I lie as I bury the terror beneath layers of responsibility.
"You're scared too, I can feel it." She hugs me tighter.
"I just didn't think I'd be a dad anytime soon." I admit.
"You're pushing 30, what did you expect?" She jests but I feel the worry we both share. Our bond a curse disguised as a blessing.
"Gin, I am so excited for our growing family. I've got so many questions."
"Good cause I've probably got no answers."
"When did you see the doctor?"
"I haven't yet, I only found out within the last 48 hours."
"You knew and you kept this from me?" Anger flashed across my face before I realized we were standing in the Dome. "Let's talk privately."
She tried to pull out of my embrace but I picked her up in a fireman's carry.
"Put me down!" She squealed trying to use her hands to cover her exposed ass.
"Make me." I growl and make my way back to our floor.

He puts me in the shower with my shirt still on. I begin to protest but my plea is cut off by cold water hitting my face.
"Geez Rex!" I shriek.
He strips quickly and steps into the shower. Lifting my shirt over my head, his eyes never leave mine. His hand caress my breasts before pushing me up against the wall. I moan as his tongue finds mine.
He pulls back and slowly lathers his hands. First, he washes me, our eye contact never breaking. I can feel my arousal moving slowly down my inner thigh.
I grab the soap and coat his body with its peppermint scent. He growls throatily when I wash his manhood. The soap falling away and revealing his massive length.
His hands find my thighs, they lift me up against the wall. In the blink of an eye, he's inside me. His length rubbing my inner walls in sweet agony. I clench, not wanting to finish from the start.
"Do it." He coaxed and I gushed all over him. "Again!"
Over and over I find my release. I was dripping down my leg. Rex was close, his eyes were black and his hands dug into my skin.
"Please." I whisper into his ear as his teeth graze my mark.
He bites down and bursts inside me. It's the most intense feeling I've ever experienced. My heart feels like it's going to explode.
We wash our bodies again then exit the shower.
"Get dressed, we've got to talk to Vulpes."
"Why?"
"You're not fighting in your next challenge."
"Like hell I'm not. Stardust pack gave us their word. They want to join our pack."
"Two packs in one day. You're getting a little greedy..."
"Rex..."
"Gin..."
"It's a staged fight. I'll be fine."
"I'm not worried about you, I'm worried about the pup."
"Oh gee, thanks..."
"You know what I mean! Let's see what the pack doctor has to say."
"Damn, she came on the trip?" I forgot which pack members we brought with us.
Is forgetting something normal when pregnant?
"Yes, I've already linked her and she said to come to the clinic."
*Internally groaning*
*Should've told him sooner.*
