The sun climbed down from its peak when XueYa finally freed himself from the throne and limped over to his study. Numerous servants and eunuchs trailed after him, waiting to assist him, but XueYa waved them aside.

He wanted to pity himself alone, in his study, where no one could witness his pain and misery. 

It took him twice as long to reach the room since he was now walking with his legs parted wide enough that he wasn't touching the free-hanging jewels. He garnered curious looks, but no one dared question the emperor. 

Sitting was still a thing he was mastering. How to hit his ass on the chair without juggling the fragile eggs, now that was something he never thought he would have to actively think about.

With a groan, XueYa finally seated on the soft pillow he had put there to ease the pain. LiangLin truly was cruel. Even if he didn't fully love XueYa yet, no need to be so heavy-handed!
