Chapter 1: Prologue
Death marks the final stage of life. From a scientific standpoint, it is when one's cells stop regenerating; one's mind is no longer in control of the body. But what happens after? Is that it? If nothing is left of us after we die and we all end up dying anyway, then why do we exist in the first place? Those are the questions we ask each other and ourselves, the questions that we most desire to be answered. And yet, the answers remain unknown, inaccessible to the living.
With no forms of science nor technologies, to help us comprehend or to even grasp a single piece of the puzzle to unlocking its mysteries, theories are as accurate and reliable as it goes.
Popular belief tends to view death as an escape from the harshness of reality or a process of losing everything one has ever obtained. I, however, do not fall into either category.
To me, death is a road that both extends to anywhere and nowhere: a pathway of possibilities. The outcome could be good or bad, positive or negative, a step forward or a step back; who knows? What I do know is that I for one, am content with exactly how everything is at this very moment. I like to stay alive if I can.
That, dear readers, is precisely the theme of this story and the message I intend on conveying by sharing this particular fiction with you. My wish for you is to live life to the fullest and to be able to enjoy all of it... Every day, every hour, every second.
