Chapter 2: Within

Click Clack Click Clack

The sound of high heels connecting with the marble flooring rung throughout the entire hallway as students rush about to their classes. A single girl who had silky black locks which landed mid back with beautiful pastel green tips stood in the middle as she smirked at all the freshmen that were scampering, lost at where to go. Stopping one of the boys, she took the books out of his hand and flipped through it before tossing it off to the side.

"What do you think you're doing?" a quiet but demanding voice called out as he went to pick up the book, ushering the younger male to go along.

"Oh?" the female smiled, chewing at her gum obnoxiously before walking over to twirl a strand of his golden red locks. "Who have we here?"

"Shouldn't you be going off to class? Stella." the male stated as he took a step back, away from the female's hands. The young girl held out her book to him and dropped it in front of him, smiling as he nearly caught it before it drops to the floor.

"I suppose." The girl named Stella responded, turning away from the male, and walking in the direction of her first class. She held a single hand up and waved at him to follow her as the two wizards walked to their Potions class.

The young Slytherin named Stella Gaunt took a 180 turn after her arrival at the infirmary fifteen days ago, not only was she more beautiful due to her change of clothing and hairstyle, but she was more of a Slytherin than she had ever been before. Throughout Stella's new days at Hogwarts, she actively studied in order to mix well with her new environment and often went to the library to read more about "her" family lineage. Stella never really cared about Houses back when she was reading the books, but for some odd reason, without her very control, she now despised Gryffindors to the core. Whenever she looked at someone who seemed even the least bit weak, she couldn't help but bully them and try to make them cry. She reckoned it had something to do with the two souls swapping and it was probably the real Stella Gaunt's internal wish.

Her first class of the day was unfortunately with the Gryffindor brats, Stella decided to take a seat in the middle next to a shy Gryffindor female. Glancing to her side, she noticed the girl scooting over as if trying to get as far as she could without looking too obvious.

"You're gonna fall off if you keep scooting." Stella rolled her eyes and propped her arms up onto the table, leaning her head on the palm of her hand. She used a free hand and dragged the girl's chair back closer to her.

"What are you afraid of? I'm not going to eat you…. or will I?" she chuckled, looking the female dead in her eyes and staring into her brown orbs.

"Stella…" the red-haired male hissed out warningly from the seat above her, holding her textbook back out to her.

"Stop teasing the girl." a male's voice called out as he snatched the book and settled it back on the girl's table. "Get up peasant."

"Tch." Stella gritted her teeth as the younger Gryffindor quickly got up and rushed to another seat far away from the two hot headed Slytherins. "What do you want Malfoy?"

Ever since Stella arrived into the book world, she found herself despising the Malfoy more and more within each minute she spent with him. She used to find him cool and might you say alluringly bad, however all she can think about is his high pitch prepubescent annoying voice. Nevertheless, her love for the funny red headed Weasley did not diminish, although she often rudely talked to him, she still had a soft spot in her heart for him. Ronald Weasley had always been Stella's favorite character, from how innocent and funny he was to how he had the Gryffindor fire burning deep within him.

"I can't sit next to you or what?" Draco questioned, staring into her bright green eyes. Ever since that fateful day, Draco noticed each and every moment the female took, from the way she dressed to the way she talked, even the way she acted. One thing he hated the most was that she now paid no respects to him and even treated him as if he was a child.

"I rather you not." she hissed back, turning to face the front as Professor Snape entered.

"Today we'll be brewing Veritaserum. Can anyone tell me what Veritaserum is?" Snape questioned as he glanced around his lecture hall. One girl whose hair was poofier than anything anyone has ever seen, rose her hand eagerly. Snape seeing this, chose to ignore her hand and continued to scan for someone else to answer.

"Perhaps Miss Gaunt?" Snape questioned, causing Stella to jolt from his sudden attention.

"Uh, it's a truth serum." she replied. Draco smirked at her, noticing the amount of makeup she wore compared to before.

"And what does it include?" he questioned further, furrowing his brows when Stella stayed silent. Hermione, who was still eagerly awaiting to be called, could not control herself and spoke aloud, "Jobberknoll feathers, Sir."

Professor Snape sighed, turning his attention to the loudmouth who spoke out of turn, "Must you always be an insufferable knowitall, Miss Granger. Talking out of turn. Minus 10 points to Gryffindor."

Draco chuckled at the Gryffindor girl's disappointment of losing points for her house, raising his eyebrow at the "Chosen One".

"Alright pipe it down. Start brewing, if you don't finish by the time class ends. Expect to come in on your own time to finish. Remind you not, it must be perfect." Snape announced, with the wave of his wand, brewing pots appeared on each desk.

"Don't mess this up for me, Malfoy." The girl hissed as she started pouring the proper mixtures stated in their textbook into the pot.

"I wouldn't dare, Miss Gaunt." Draco whispered back, grazing his hand on hers. "Oops, meant to grab this." he smiled fakely, grabbing a test tube of substance. Stella took a glass rod and stirred the mixture slowly, tiptoeing slightly to look inside the pot as she lightly retched at the foul smell.

BOOM

Suddenly the entire room shuddered as if an earthquake happened, black smoke filled the air as students started coughing.

"Bloody Hell…." Ron muttered to himself, waving the black smoke away from his face. "You alright Stel?"

"MINUS 50 POINTS TO MISTER FINNEGAN!" Snape bellowed, casting a spell and soon the smoke-filled air dispersed, revealing Seamus Finnegan's distraught appearance. He mumbled his apologies to his house mates, dipping his head low as he cleaned up the mess he made.

"Since the Gryffindors have done it again. Class dismissed." Professor Snape announced, seeing that some of the tables broke in half and more than half of the utensils were shattered from the explosion.

"Since we're off early, want-" Before Draco could finish his sentence, the female already stood up and left the room.

"Hey Stel! Wait up!" the Gryffindor male called out, running after the female, and taking his place next to her.

"Well, if you want. I'll go with you." a voice called out, his hand landing on the male's shoulder as he packed his bags.

"Blaise…." Draco acknowledged. "Let's go."

"What do you want Ron?" Stella questioned as she walked towards the dining hall to grab herself a cup of coffee before her next class.

"I like your new hair. It's different." he commented, pointing to her half updo that showcased her pastel green tips proudly. As they made their way to the dining hall, the infamous Harry Potter and Hermione Granger waved towards Ron as they waited for him to join them.

"Stella." Hermione acknowledged.

The female simply ignored the two, brushing past them as she walked to the coffee stand.

"Latte." she ordered, turning to Ron, and raising her eyebrow as if asking if he wanted anything. "I'm fine, don't like bitter." He replied softly, holding his hand out to politely reject her.

The barista nodded his head and winked at Stella before brewing her orders.

"So, Harry, have you heard the voices yet?" she questioned, remembering she left off where Harry Potter started hearing voices echoing during his detention time.

"Voices…?" he questioned back cautiously, narrowing his eyes at the Slytherin female. Not answering her question, he watched her every move carefully as she leaned to grab her coffee from the barista. Out of nowhere a young Ravenclaw girl who was laughing, rammed right into the Slytherin who was holding the hot substance in her hand.

"Who the f-." Stella growled out as she recollected herself, noticing a deep brown stain on her uniform. "Stel?! Are you okay?" Ron questioned worriedly as the other shook her hands from the burn of the hot coffee.

"You got guts causing this." The Slytherin female hissed at the younger girl who had bumped into her, lifting her up by her collar.

"Hey!" Harry yelled, not liking her attitude over spilt coffee "Put her down!"

Stella glanced behind her to see the hero of the story glaring at her intensely, holding his wand out, ready to attack if necessary. "Stella, she didn't do it on purpose." Harry stated, as Stella let go of the girl, causing her to drop to the floor with a loud thud.

"Miss Gaunt, your latte." the barista smiled, holding out two coffee cups to the girl.

"I don't suppose you need two hot coffees, right?" she questioned, taking one of the cups from the male with a seductive smirk. He shrugged his shoulders, stepping aside for the female to stand in the front. Opening the lid, Stella poured the hot substance all over the younger female student who was still on the floor. The girl yelped out in pain as the coffee burnt her skin through the clothing she wore.

"Oops, my bad." she smiled. "It was an accident."

'Is this seriously what I normally do at school too?' Stella thought to herself, noting how wickedly evil she was for doing such a thing. 'Thank goodness I can do it here and not back at home, or else I'd get a fat demerit.'

Harry growled out in anger, shoving the female aside as he went to help the younger girl. "That's enough!" Ron glared at the girl. "That's far enough!"

Stella's smile faltered ever so slightly as Ron rose his voice at her, she looked at her own uniform that was disgustingly brown.

"But…she…"

"Stella, what has gotten into you. You've changed so much." Ron questioned, helping the young Ravenclaw up with his friend Hermione.

"Scourgify." A light emanated from Stella's blouse and the once stain was erased as if it never happened. Hermione waved the wand in her hand and gritted her teeth. "Will that do? Miss Pure Blood."

Taking the other coffee cup, Stella smiled and shrugged as if everything was okay. She walked up to Ron, placing a hand on his shoulder before whispering softly. "I don't like your girl's attitude."

Leaning down, she patted onto the female's head, who had caused the entire scene to happen and smiled, "What's your name, little one?"

"Em..Emilia...Thorne." the girl replied almost incoherently.

"Don't let it happen again Miss Thorne. I'm not as nice as before."

"Did you see that?"

"I'm not blind Zabini."

Two young Slytherin males stood to the side as they watched the whole scene unfold, thinking they would have needed to walk in and protect the useless Gaunt again.

"I kind of like her like this, it's hot." Blaise Zabini chuckled, watching the young girl walk out of the dining hall with her head held high.

"Oh Merlin, disgusting!" Draco exclaimed, mimicking a vomiting motion. His eyes trailed onto a certain red-head, narrowing his eyes in displease as he watched him laugh along with his two friends.
