Chapter 7: Chapter 7

After Master Makarov's question, I kept silent for a moment before answering.

"People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That is how they define "Reality." If I were to view this opponent as impossible to defeat, then my reality must simply be broken."

---

Makarov POV

"...simply be broken."

What a good answer.

To believe that he can overcome any obstacle that he will come across, that was someone who had full faith in their abilities.

I couldn't help but smile and say, "Very well my boy. You truly deserve the title of S-Class."

---

Itachi POV

It has been two years since my introduction to this new world.

Now 17, I've built myself a reputation as a magician that can win a battle before it starts with my powerful arsenal of magic.

It was now the year X774 and in the timeline, it was scheduled for Ur (Gray's Master) to seal Deliora at the cost of her life in order to seal away Gray's hatred and vengeance for the demon.

Her death was necessary for Gray's development.

A relentless vengeance will always have consequences.

So for now, I'll keep to myself and continue building up points.

---

Due to the twisted body and sporadically jutting sides, the tower appeared very chaotic and asymmetrical. The bottom and the main body of the tower was comprised of overlapping and intertwining lengths of metal tubes which wound together from the ground and straight up into the sky.

That's right. This was the Tower of Heaven of X776.

And inside deep within, there was currently a slave revolt.

With my tactics of a shinobi, finding an entrance to the Tower wasn't an issue.

---

Erza Scarlet POV (AN: Do I have to keep doing this? I feel like it breaks the flow of the story. But keeps clarity.)

(Play Itachi's Theme)

"Rob, please, Rob... don't go..."

We were supposed to escape!

Have freedom, all of us together...

But why? Why did Rob have to die?

It was horrible. This feeling as if I could lift boulders and cut down all in my path.

The plain steel sword in my hand, a hand that had seem to grasp something of value for the first time.

I knew it. This feeling was magic. But to only know it after the death of a friend...

"Erza! Help!"

I was called out of my misery when another slave urgently requested help from me.

Yes, we were in the middle of a battle. I cannot be in my own thoughts!

---

It wasn't enough. Even with my newfound power, I still couldn't free us from this hell.

It sent me to despair.

The incoming fireball that seemed to slow down time as my short life flashed before my eyes.

Jellal... I couldn't save you as well...?

The blazing sphere of crimson obliterated everything in its path as I started to feel its heat from a distance but it was then...

the world around me turned into an ethereal red and white and the incoming fireball was immediately stopped in its tracks, almost as if it was never in motion.

I blinked in confusion and then I saw him.

His cloak fluttered in this world of red and white as he stood directly in front of the incoming fireball, staring right at it.

I then heard a deep voice followed by a sharp high-pitched noise.

"Amaterasu."

The sphere of fire was gradually covered in another layer of black flames.

"The fires from hell..." I muttered in shock.

It was then when the man turned around to stare down at me that I thought I saw the most strange yet mesmerizing eyes I've ever seen in my life.

A pair of red eyes with strange marks surrounding them into a triangle. It was beautiful and yet...

His face was cold.

I looked down, not daring to match his gaze.

"Your magic is a power meant for you to use. Even if sacrifices were made to awaken it," his deep voice resounded.

I couldn't help but once again stare in shock at his hypnotizing red eyes.

He had known about my deepest concerns.

Tears were threatening to fall once more and I rubbed my eyes, reminding myself of my current situation.

When I looked up again, the man was gone and the world had lost its glory of red and white.

I stared in awe as the sphere of hell flames slowly approached me and shrunk into mere sparks of fire that lightly singed my skin.

Is this... a magician?
