Chapter 21: Everything Has Changed

Everyone settled down in their spots, ready to listen to the song that the duo will sing. The princess trio distributed the sandwiches while the three boys gave away the juice boxes.
Kenji readied in his stool with his guitar while Veta also sat on the other stool.
"We will sing 'Everything Has Changed'," and with his introduction, Kenji started to strum his guitar.
Following his beat, Veta started the song.

Veta sang the first verse with smiles directed at every kid. She's even swaying left to right in her seat, obviously enjoying the rhythm of the song.

The first half of the pre-chorus was sang happily by Veta, and the kids graced by her gaze just now giggled.

And Kenji joined during the second half of the pre-chorus, which made a few young girls have hearts in their eyes. And the chorus happened.

In this part, Kenji and Veta coincidentally happened to look at each other. Their smiles brightened as they swayed following the beat.
After the chorus is an instrumental, so Veta quietened down to listen to the lovely melody of the song.

Kenji sang the first part of the second verse which strung the heartstrings of the young girls in the orphanage. It looks like they've been charmed by Kenji's wonderful voice.

And Veta sang the second part. Although this is just a performance, many among the audience started to view Kenji and Veta as a couple, especially with the feelings they are giving to the song.

The next pre-chorus was a duet of the two, and many already converted into Sveta-Kenji fans. If you can see a beautiful girl and an equally handsome boy with angelic voices singing a song so heartfelt together, won't you think of the duo as a couple?

The duet in the chorus raised the jealousy of the three boys. They clearly felt that after this, Kenji and Veta will be closer, and it will make the competition harder. They felt opposite to the princess trio.
Rhy was grinning from ear to ear as she's live streaming the whole performance to the betting website. The viewers kept rising every second and she's sure that tomorrow in school, Kenji will be an official heartthrob. The reputation of the betting website they created will rise exponentially, and the earnings will flow into their pockets.
She's also thinking about being a producer of a real life show 'The Goddess' Lovers' to increase profit.
'Easy money comes when I'm with Veta. She's simply a money printer.'
Kora was feeling butterflies in her stomach as she watched the duet. She's feeling proud of Veta as if she's Veta's mother. Because whoever Veta choses, she'll support Veta strongly.
'Go out there and explore the world, our goddess. We'll be supporting you wherever you went.'
Nix was smiling and she's giving off a faint trace of happiness. Even when she has her back on someone, the happiness can be felt flowing from her. It's the happiness for a friend.

The song's bridge brought a few giggles and squeals from the children as Kenji and Veta's eyes met one more time. Hearts are forming in the kids' eyes. Even Via felt excited for her sister.

Veta sung the pre-chorus solely as she swayed from left to right. She even felt like clapping while singing.

This chorus was a duet and everyone was already swaying, following the lovely beat. The song is about to end, and it earned a few regretful sighs. They loved the duet and they wanted more, but they knew that this happened only because of an agreement. They have no right to request for more.

The last few lines of the song made the crowd held their breathes, for Kenji leaned towards Veta's face, acting as if he'd kiss Veta if not for the crowd.
The three boys felt their jealousies broke off from their limits and was about to charge to where the duo was singing to trash Kenji but was stopped by the princess trio.
The three girls gave them sharp stares that made them gulp hard, so they returned their gazes to Veta and Kenji. Thankfully, Kenji didn't continue his plan and returned to his proper seat and smiled charmingly at Veta as they finished the song.
