Chapter 17: Car Teases
During that time when Kenji won as the Class Escort, the officer line up was told to stand in front for acknowledgement. Of course, the crowd outside the classroom started to disperse, as they already knew who the Escort is.
Standing there in front was 12 individuals that will lead this section to greatness. And everybody started shipping Kenji and Veta because of it. After all, they both looked good standing beside each other.
However, Sveta was behaving a little shy when anybody mentions that occasion. Like today. The girl instantly quieted down after hearing Rhy's tease. She turned her gaze away, and when no one was looking, blushed red like a tomato.
She's fine receiving praises and compliments everyday but when someone else is also involved, especially when its a boy teased for her, she does not know how to react. So she did what dhe though was appropriate. Turning her gaze away, where nobody can see her face.
She still failed though, for Kora had very observant eyes. Kora just naughtily smiled and patted Nix to wake the snoring dinosaur. She don't want to make Veta feel uncomfortable with continuous teases. One Rhy is enough. If Kora is added, Veta might abandon them as friends.
Kora sighed in her heart. 'Rhy is quite insensitive to atmospheres like this. If Veta is someone else with very short patience, they might have kicked Rhy's butt for the charge of annoyance.'
Well, it's a good thing that Veta isn't just anybody else.
"Veta, do you want me to kick Rhy off the car? I'll do it for free. She's loud. I want to sleep," and Nix got Kora's sign to speak.
'I woke her up for this. Hais.'
"That's bad, Nix! You should just get back to your sleep. What are you even doing at night anyway? Can't you be normal for once and do your stuff during the day? The night is for sleeping, dummy," says the dummy who is so loud and woke someone who is sleeping.
"I was doing all those projects you shove into me. Do you want me to stop and just sleep in peace?" Nix glared at Rhy who widened her eyes.
"Don't! I mean, don't stop the projects. You can sleep all day if you want," Rhy gave Nix a fake smile, and the latter just sneered. Kora watched the two battle in words in the background as she also observed Veta's face blushing harder.
'What is she even thinking? She don't usually stay silent while the two were fighting. She'll definitely intrude and stop them. <Gasp> Is she thinking naughty things now?!'
While Kora is panicking because of her thoughts of Veta, the two were still not finished fighting.
"Nah. I think I have forgotten how comfy it was to sleep in bed at night. I think that it's time for me to stop entertaining those ideas of yours. I'll still be earning money anyways. Modelling for my parents' company earned me a lot of allowance lately," Nix said to herself as she opened a piece of lollipop and licked it.
"No! You'll earn more money with my ideas, Nix. You have to listen to me," Rhy demanded, but Nix's head was already in the clouds. She's busy daydreaming.
"Just wearing different clothes and posing for a camera lets me earn a lot while hypothetically doing nothing. It's a big advantage than working overnight and sleeping in class," Nix said which made Rhy's world crumble.
'My moneymaking machine, going to be gone just like that?!'
"Think about the kids, Nix! The kids!" Rhy finally said as her final trump card, hoping to move Nix's sleepy heart.
Veta snapped out of her blushing, Kora looked at Rhy weirdly, and Nix froze.
"Why do I feel like the two of you are arguing before getting divorced? It's kind of weird, actually. Both of you are girls," Kora interjected, as she awkwardly looked at Nix and Rhy.
"I don't like having intimate relationships with girls," Nix answered nonchalantly to Kora's accusation while Rhy rattled on.
"What?! Am I unacceptable to you? Excuse me! Many men drool over me and I even have a long line of suitors, wishing that they can have my attention! And you just rejected me just like that? Just. Like. That?!" Rhy went on with her annoying voice.
"You're too noisy," Nix added, that added to Rhy's rage.
Kora almost face palmed. The two of them never changes. If Kora and Rhy are partners in teasing Veta, then Rhy and Nix in the same page are frenemies. Sometimes, Kora tried to remember the reason why she befriended them. Both are not normal humans in any sense.
'Is it because of Sveta? After all, I am the last one to enter this group. The three were already friends before Veta picked me up from my despairs.'
"Ladies, please do behave yourselves. We are already here," Veta remined the two that silenced them. After all, they don't want to let the kids see them fight.
"Ready yourself, Veta. Kenji is not the only one here," Kora warned Veta who began to blush once more.
"S-stop teasing me!" Veta softly (shouted) in counter. Although she was somewhat mad at Kora and Rhy for continuously teasing her, she can't fully express it, and she'll look like a shy lady with her expression. Totally different to what she really feels. So she blushed at Kora's mischievous smile.
"Aw! You're so cute when you're like that, Veta!" Kora can't take it anymore and tried to reach for Veta's cheeks. Because Veta is right beside her seat, she immediately reached Veta's chubby cheeks and pinched it.
"Hey! Let me in on that!" Rhy's eyes suddenly had a glint on them as she tried to reach for Veta. But she failed, because she's sitting at the back of Veta's seat, and Nix was stopping her from standing.
"Young ladies, we have arrived at Missan Iu Orphanage. Please alight the car immediately for the children are waiting," the driver politely announced as Veta and the trio excitedly got off the car to greet the little angels of the orphanage.
