Chapter 11: Love
"Isn't my cousin awesome?" Valeir said as she finished her piece. The faces of her other classmates, who were listening to her, were in awe.
"Of course he is, Val. I also dreamed of being a famous writer myself, but alas, I had no talent in it," Nine said as she wallowed in self-pity. The others were also nodding endlessly, as the feat of Reon was way above what they can do at the moment.
However, in the corner of their circle, an inconspicuous youth was silently looking at Valeir, with a scrutinizing gaze.
"President, why are you sitting here in the corner all by yourself? Why don't you join the conversations with the transferees?" A chubby girl with glasses asked as she talked to that youth.
The youth looked at her and turned his gaze back to a certain someone, then smiled, his braces showing.
"I wanted to just listen to their stories to know more about them. And there's a certain someone among them who's quite unique, Nicole. I want all her details. From birth," he simply said to Nicole, as the girl looked at where her President's gaze was fixed.
She narrowed her eyes, seemingly trying to remember the data of transferees this year. And an illusionary bulb lighted near her head as she remembered.
"Valeir Lyra Delicere. You seek to know more about her, President?" Nicole questionly looked at the President.
"Yes. She looks so... Familiar," he simply said before sipping from his juicepack.
"I'll look into it, President. We can simply use the excuse of doubling security to look into her files from the Administration Office," Nicole said as she excused herself to do the deed.
It was the time when he turned his gaze away that Valeir turned to him, her eyes having a mysterious glint in them.

Walking out of the room, Javier was accompanied by his own circle when he unknowingly bumped into another student. And when they looked at that person, Javier's circle all paled.
"Hmm? Oh, who do we have here? Our shy little Javier," and that person smirked at him, but the others saw that as a form of flirt used by the Princess Of Love, especially if she already locked on a target!
They were weeping and mourning inwardly for Javier's misfortune. Being targeted by the Princess Of Love this early in the school year, the only things he'll probably remember after this year ends are blushing and perspiration.
"M-mi-mi-miss Celare," Javier gulped before he managed to say that. He may be disguising himself as a shy youth, but in front of Kora, he's REALLY shy and nervous! There's something in Kora that he can't understand, an attractive something that makes him want to hover near her, like a bee would to a blossomed flower.
"Just call me Kora, love. Why are you so formal?" Kora teased, as she called Javier by an endearment very familiar to the students of Novaculite Regional School.
"Spare him, Kora. I'm hungry," Nix broke this flirtatious start of Kora, as always, with her fantasies of food.
Kora looked at her in disdain as she hesitantly bid her goodbye to Javier while she gave her signature 'he's mine' look to the others in Javier's circle.
Their eyes went wide, as that was a sign that Kora is really claiming Javier as her own.
"Hello, Javier. Getting lunch, ain't we?" Veta peeked from Rhy's arms. Javier's face brightened as he heard Veta's voice.
"Hey, uhmm, yes?" Javier answered, not sure about himself. His circle almost face palmed in embarrassment.
'You're talking to the goddess for crying out loud! Can you stop being shy for a moment?!'
"Let's go eat now, Veta. He's a shy boy. Let's see him later. It might help if you hang around him more. You know, absorb some of your confidence aura," Rhy mischievously, but looked at Javier with a 'that's not free' look. Everyone in the school knows the meaning of the looks given by their princess trio.
"I want some beef stakes. You pay for this one, Rhy," Nix said lazily then gave the girl a 'I'm hungry and you're making the conversation longer so you'll pay for it'.
Rhy opened her mouth to rebut Nix's statement, but she knew that the longer she makes this lazy fella wait to eat, the more she'll pay. She gulped before dragging Veta and Kora away towards the Canteens.
"Good luck, Javier. The two were already making things hard for you. If I join in the fun, what will happen?" Nix left this statement to Javier before she followed the three. Javier only gulped hard after remembering his enrollment day.
"Javier, here's a tip. You better contact the Valiant Princess later for the payment. It's only 20 pesos, and you're rich anyway. However, stay far away from the Princess Of Love. She's dangerous. You'll fall without knowing it, especially since you looked like someone single from birth, no offense," a girl from Javier's circle said with concern. This was seconded by another.
"The Princess Of Love can be so attractive unintentionally and many already fell for her charms, but when she targets you solely, then you're doomed to a whole school year full of nervousness and heart beats. Last year, a naughty boy teased and flirted with her, but ended up being toyed with by the princess. He transferred school afterwards, can't bear to see the princess with other men," the others told him.
Hearing all of Kora's feats and reputation within the school, Javier gulped hard. Remembering his reaction with Kora, he realised that it's all true. Veta is also attractive, but in a purer way. But Kora's attractiveness is directly pointed at a person's love for aesthetics. It's human nature.
'What trap did I fall myself into? Will I also end up like that naughty boy? But I'm not naughty! What should I do?!'
And Javier spent the entire day thinking of what he'll do just to avoid the loving ire of the school's Princess Of Love.
