Chapter 5: Advantage
"Alright, class. Today's the first day of your Senior High School life. And we have ten transferees from different schools all over the country. Please be courteous and kind to them, help them familiarize to the school grounds and adjust to the environment," Teacher Morgan, the adviser of 11-ABM Alpha, said as he looked at the new faces in his class.
"Now, to get to know each other better, this day is the Introduction Day. Everyone, please go to the front and tell everyone something about yourselves one by one,"he said as he ordered his new students to introduce themselves.
One by one, the students got up and talked about themselves, some shy while others were shameless enough to boast about how beautiful and handsome they are. The whole class is noisy as laughter and teases were aired.
It was until Veta's turn to introduce herself.
"Hello classmates. I am Sveta Lucy Briller, 16, and I love reading books and singing. You can come to me whenever you need help and I can be your friend. Please be kind to me," she said and bowed deeply as she finished. The only noise in the room after that are booming claps. Veta smiled and went back to her chosen seat, next to the trio.
It was Kora's turn next as she smiled in a flirty way while walking towards the front of the room.
"Hi guys! I'm Raven Kora Celare, you can call me Kora, the Princess of Love of Novaculite Regional School. When you need any advices about love and friendship, just call for help," she said as she winked and blew a kiss in the air towards everyone.
Almost all the boys felt their heart beat faster than usual, and even the other girls were charmed by her smiles, but they knew that they have to be wary of Kora, or else they'll just fall into a trap.
Nix's turn was short. She just stood up lazily and even yawned as she stood at the front.
"I'm Ciele Nix Ferro, the Princess of Ingenuity as other students call me or whatever. Just don't disturb my sleep. I'm fine with that," she said then directly walked back without sparing her classmates another glance and dived to her desk.
Rhy's introduction is somewhat weird as she talked about business and how to get close to Veta. She's clearly advertising her products.
"I'm Priya Rhydd Lasich, also called Rhy and the Valiant Princess of Novaculite Regional School! I am a close friend of Veta, and I already have a lot of tips on how to be close to the school's goddess. Please do download and sign up for Where Is The Goddess? App so that during weekends, you can still be updated of Veta's whereabouts," she said then showed an app on her phone.
"I am also selling Veta's pictures, Veta pillow cases, Veta mugs and other Veta items. Should you decide to buy, contact me via Email or text, I'll answer immediately! You can even talk to me face to face," Rhy finished her advertisement with a small bow and the four new boys in their class are already thinking of talking to Rhy about these tips she was talking about. After all, they need inside information about how Veta lived her life these past few years without them.
Up next is Hein Pretium, the basketball player.
"Greetings, I am Hein Pretium, an international player of basketball. If you have any questions regarding sports, feel free to ask ne about those. And do please help me with my academic studies then," Hein smiled suavely as some girls gulped hard and has hearts on their eyes.
Then came Reon, with his snobbish expression, he made his way towards the front.
"I'm Reon Kei Rizan, a writer. I'm here to study, obviously, and to get inspirations for my works. I'm 17 next week and I'm throwing a party at the Zit Branch of the Cortez Hotel. Everyone's invited. I'll send the invitations to your emails later," after he said his piece, everybody has an excited expression for the party. Even Reon felt proud about himself and thought that this will be a good opportunity to get close to Veta.
Kenji came up next, wearing his mischievous smile as always.
"Kenji Owen Kier is my name and I loved music. With me around, anyone can have a chance to be seen on TV as my connections within the show business industry is deep. If you want to be an actor, a singer, a dancer or a model, contact me. I have an eye for talents," his introduction induced the students love for fame, as they already planned about how to get his attention.
And last came Javier. He shyly moved to the front as he kept looking at the floor.
"Uhmm, hi guys. I'm Javier Emilio Cortez, the heredero of Hacienda Tri Viesti. I'm not good with directions, so I might be lost in this big school for a few times. Please do help me navigate my way," he shyly said as he bowed deeply and blushed.
Everyone looked at him awkwardly, and no one seemed to want to even speak, until Veta smiled and said loudly.
"I'll gladly help you navigate your way here in Novaculite Regional School, Remi. I can be your tour guide if you want," Veta smiled at Javier, and this spiked the jealousy and curses of the previous three boys.
'That lucky bastard! I should have asked for Veta's tour guiding here in school.' - Hein's thoughts.
'You won this time, Javier, but I still have my duet with Veta next week. Don't count this as a big advantage.' - Kenji gritted his teeth while thinking this.
'Welp, I think Javier already have an advantage over us. Tsk, thinking of a way to maximize his time with Veta in school, smart. Wait! Did he ask that Rhy already about the tips?!' - Reon looked abruptly at Rhy who noticed his gaze. Rhy just smiled cheekily at him.
