"Veta, who's the pretty boy you accompanied just now?" Koran started her questions on the name of the boy. Veta, fresh from walking under the sun, immediately got surrounded by the trio after her arrival. All her other classmates who sat nearby perked their ears to listen to Veta's answer. They're all curious as to who the boy was.
"He's Javier Cortez, the young heredero of Tri Viesti Hacienda. It's no wonder that you don't know him. You don't watch business news on TV," Veta said as she smiled and patted Nix's head, as she knew that Nix will be the only one who knew about Javier.
"Oh, an heir? That's great! Then he'll be easier to talk to," Kora said with an evil smile plastered on her face. She's already planning her evil schemes.
But her daydreams were cut short when Rhy flicked her forehead. She complained about the pain as she rubbed her forehead.
"Stop scheming against an innocent boy again, Kora. You're really evil," Rhy scolded and brought Kora to a corner to talk to her. But before that, they heard Nix saying something.
"You may not be able to get near him, Kora. The Cortez Family is very strict to people he gets in contact with. After all, he's the only heir," Nix nonchalantly said and yawned. In the trio, only her parents are in the business industry. Kora's parents are working in the court while Rhy's parents are government officials.
"Have you recognized him earlier, Veta?" Nix asked as she lazily looked at the quarreling Rhy and Kora by the corner. Veta smiled lightly before answering.
"He was the son of my father's friend who constantly visited our house before. But then suddenly, they stopped visiting. I asked father about the reason but he just smiled at me and patted my head," Veta answered as she reminisce about her childhood.
Nix nodded in realization before yawning once more.
"So the two of you were basically childhood friends. What a bummer," Nix just said before sleeping on her desk.
Veta was left smiling at how Nix acted and then she went to talk to her other classmates.
They were all ecstatic because their goddess decided to talk to them. After all, they were envious of how the trio can approach Veta carelessly and even joke around with her.
The classroom began to be noisy, as the conversations between Veta and her classmates was filled with laughter. That was until there was a knock on the room's door.
A suave young boy in a varsity jacket was smiling as he got everyone's attention.
"Hey V! I finished my enrollment process. I'm officially a student! Thank you for helping me before," he sincerely thanked.
"You're welcome, H. I promised, didn't I?" Veta returned the smile as she excused herself from her conversation. She walked towards the door to invite Hein inside. After all, they will be classmates in the upcoming school year.
"I heard that he's the famous basketball player from overseas. He's said to be very good at playing, and now, he'll be playing for our school! That's exciting, right?" A girl in the previous conversation said to another girl who looked like she's the queen of the news in their school.
"Yup. And FYI, he's the Great Hein Pretium, the one wearing the number 12 jersey of Visla Team! He's the ace player that's why many other international teams tried to poach him, but he stayed loyal to his home team and won many championships for the team," the queen of the news, Eirein Cellum, finalized.
She knew a lot of news, may it be found on the internet or word by mouth. And she can differentiate the truth from lies. That's why she's the queen of the news. Delivering only the truth. Nobody knew if she have a profile of everybody or if she's just someone observant to know so much.
"You seriously still remember that? We were just kids when you promised me that you'll make me your schoolmate. Anyways, I still have to go, V. I also have to manage my papers back in my team. You know, with the transfer and all. See ya!" And with that suave move, he bade his goodbye.
"Since when were the goddess and the Great Hein friends? Queen Eirein?" A rather curious boy asked the news queen as he was dumbfounded that his goddess has a boy she was close to.
"Oh, the answer to that is rather long. Long story short, you just have to know that they were friends since they were seven. Got separated when they were ten and started their own careers. Too young for that, right?" Eirein has this naughty smile on her face. She knew a lot. But it's not her story to tell.
"How many hot boys have you picked up this morning, Veta? In my point of view, there were a total of four boys, right? Will there be more?" Kora creeped up to Veta as she ignored Rhy's scolding.
"I was just helping, Kora. There's no ulterior motives," Veta giggled, as her friend's suspicions is getting on another level.
"Oh, helping boys you were close to since childhood? On top of that, they were called young prodigies all over the world? Am I the only one who noticed this pattern or not?" Nix rose from her nap as she squinted her sleepy eyes at Veta.
"Reon, the famous author of your favorite book. Kenji, the world renowned musician who wrote your favorite song. Javier, the heir of Tri Viesti Hacienda and the son of your father's friend. And that Hein, a famous basketball player that's enough for international teams to fight over. I'm on your side, Veta, and you know that, but their connection to you really intrigues me," Rhy joined the discussion and pinned another accusation to the poor innocent girl.
Veta sighed as she also can't explain why four of her childhood friends were coincidentally joining her school right at this moment. She's clueless. She just approached them earlier in hopes that they'll remember her.
"I also wanted to ask that to myself, Rhy. It's all really a coincidence," Veta felt helpless.
One chap today, folks. I think I'm going to keep updating one chapter per day. But that's not a promise. I still have a lot of work to do right now. I'm just putting this story in between so I can keep up.
