Wayne continued, "When the auditions were over, Rosey and I left to return home, and there was a minor incident in the grounds of the church. A man had brutally kicked a dog, and I stepped in." Wayne looked around the room and, after receiving nods of support, continued. "Well, there were six men, and something about them didn't sit right with me. I told Rosey that they had a guilty look about them. Anyway, I told the fella who kicked the dog to stop, and he told me to bugger off and reached behind his back as if he had a weapon. I reckon it was a knife."
"And you think they were the Russians?" asked the commissioner.
"They didn't sound Russian, but yes, it had to be them. This only now just occurred to me."
"And you can definitely say there were six of them?"
"Oh yes, and the one with the knife looked dangerous. He was a skinny bloke, looked like a ferret. One of them was definitely in charge, must have been an officer, and he apologized and restrained the ferret."
