Thorndon Flats, Wellington.
As customary, Andrew and Eleanor were enjoying a leisurely breakfast together. He had a busy day ahead, and in preparation for creating the balance sheet, he needed to finish entering all the invoices and receipts into the daily journals and then begin recording entries into the accounting register. For Andrew this was easy, the most difficult aspect was making his handwriting neat and legible. His office was situated at Wakefield"s residence and accessible through a public side entrance. All those who sought business meetings with Colonel Wakefield would pass through an outer office and waiting room, and then through Andrew"s workplace to access the colonel"s office. As the colonel wasn"t in residence today, Andrew felt no compunction about arriving at work early and disturbing him.
"I hope the colonel can sort out the problems with the Government," said Andrew between mouthfuls of porridge.
