I burst through the veil once again, hand on Gabriel's shoulder, yelling for Max though I wasn't sure what he'd be able to do for me since he'd already made it clear he wasn't going to interfere in this plane's politics anymore.

To my surprise he answered immediately. On our way.

Our way. Not his way.

Oh boy.

I made sure my entrance was grand, tossing Gabriel up and over my drach shoulders as I burst through the veil and into the still air of the council chamber at Harvard. The ceiling was high, I recalled, the space vast. At least to the woman I normally was. But my bulk as a drach filled the emptiness quite nicely, the roar I released a physical thing that forced the witches below to crash to their knees.

All but my mother who held her ground. And Femke Svennson.

The blonde WPC leader looked up with horror in her eyes, mouth gaping while Mom crossed her arms over her chest and nodded once.
