Chapter 114: Vickie's House

With a blood test, the doctors on the Yorktown were able to determine that Timothy was the son of Lt. Commander Roy O'Hara. As the planet he had come from was quarantined, they could not return him, so they contacted Roy's only living direct relative, his sister Vickie. She still lived in the home they grew up in, a 300-year-old house that was also the family business, an antique shop.

The Coo-Coo-Clock struck 12. Timothy came out of his room at the top of the wood stairs and watched the bird on the stick appear and disappear in the old wood clock as the tinny sound of the coo-coo counted the time. Vickie watched from the sales counter that was at the far end of what was once the living room. As the clock's show came to an end, Timothy looked down at his aunt with the saddest eyes and then went back to his room. Her face reflected the boy's pain as she wished she knew what to do for him.
