Chapter 45: Minnie / Scooter

1930 hours, on the Phoenix.

Deb found a reporting station near a maintenance locker on deck 7. She pulled a datapad out of her pack that she had recorded her progress on during the day and put it in a slot next to the terminal. On most ships, the pads would use a wireless network and update automatically, but with the size of the Phoenix, a wireless network couldn't be 100% secure. The pad was done uploading nearly as soon as she slid it in, so she was able to pull it out just as fast. Bradley leaned against the wall with his eyes closed. He hadn't had such a full day of nonstop work since basic training. Deb looked over at him and turned her head with a smile as if she were admiring a cute animal.

"Come on kiddo, time for dinner."

"I'm too tired to eat. I just want to find somewhere to crash," he said.

"Come on," she said as she grabbed his arm and practically dragged him down the hall to the lift.
