Sparkles glowed across my hands, across the phone as I dropped it in my lap. Darkness swirled and try to encompass me, but I brushed it away, smothering it with the glow of the magic now fully in my possession. I felt the curse die, heard it shriek as it fled for me, and knew I was free of it at last.
Witches were real. There was too such a thing as magic. And I was neck deep in it.
