We went home. There wasn't much else to be done, not with the Furies departed-for now-and Seth and Lilith released. But I felt the lingering watchfulness of the horrible creatures who Chaos tried to grumble were no match for her power and decided to do as I was told.
Until something more important came up.
Destiny skipped on ahead of me, Karma's hand in her right fist, Kismet's in her left, the pair less enthusiastic though they willingly swung the small girl between them as she squealed in utter happiness. It was easy to forget she was one of the most powerful foretelling forces in Creation and I wondered why she chose a girl's form over something more formidable.
Then again, for all I knew, she didn't get a choice. That would suck, staying a little kid no one seemed to respect for all eternity.
We were inside my realm, the Mist door firmly shut behind us, before I realized Mafdel had followed us inside.
