A maple wand is any wand that is crafted out of wood from a maple tree. More specifically, a maple wand is any wand that has a maple shaft, a maple handle, or both.

Maple Trees

There are 128 species of maple, most of which are in Asia, but some are native to North America and Europe. Most maples are deciduous trees growing from 30 to 145 feet high. Depending on the species, maple trees have characteristic leaves with from three to nine lobes with pointy ends. Maples are easily identified by their highly distinctive winged seeds that twirl like helicopter blades as they fall.
