The street by the Flying Frog was deserted, so Marilyn hopped out of the car and headed inside.

"Hello." Cher waved at her. "I thought you'd be still sleeping."

"My friends have me on a strict schedule," Marilyn said. "They're predicting something between a slumber party and a riot once we get to this hotel."

"Better you than me, Marilyn." Cher rolled her head and sighed. "You seen Deanna?"

"Not since the audition."

"We could have used her last night," Cher said, "We set up a TV to watch the show in the bar, then all these other people came after you mentioned us. I don't think we'll need to worry about expenses for a while. That's this business, all feast or famine. It's as bad as show business."

"Bo awake?"

"More or less." Cher wiped her eyes. "You go ahead."

Bo hardly made a bump in the blankets, but his eyes lit up when he saw Marilyn.
