"Thank you sweetie." Thomas stated after sitting himself on one of the vacant couch. It was still morning so there weren't that many people in the cafe.
"Did you eat breakfast before leaving? Do you want to eat something? I can ask the chef to cook some spare ribs for you." Jillyanna was really worried for the man since he was driving alone.
"I haven't had breakfast yet." Thomas answered to her. He would never lie to her because that's what she promised to her when she was still a child. That's the reason why, even though she might feel betrayed, he still told her the truth behind her mother's death.
Jillyanna was a smart child and was able to tell what's right from wrong and what's lie from truth. She didn't hold any grudge against them when he spoke to her about her mother's death.
"Where's your son by the way? Why didn't he left you a driver or someone who can accompany you outside. I really want to give him some beating." Jillyanna ranted to him but she had asked the staff to call the chef over.
"Don't misunderstood him okay? I left without telling him. I wanted to check and see how he's doing. He's been telling me he's fine but I can't guarantee that without knowing it myself. I even heard that someone was going to marry him. How is that possible? A girl was pursuing him? That's ridiculous isn't it? A man should chase the woman, not the other way around. My son is really good. Any woman would be lucky to marry him." Thomas was talking to her cheerfully as if he didn't go through an ordeal earlier.
If she was a second late. If she didn't go back. If she didn't see him. Her mind was full of 'what ifs' and it made her more mad against his son. But she couldn't say it anymore since the man in front of her cared so much for his son.
'That lucky bastard!' Jillyanna mumbled mentally but she was smiling in front of him. Nobody knew what's going on in her brain.
She asked the chef to prepare a nutritious breakfast for Thomas and while waiting, he introduced him to Cielo.
Cielo was once again surprised to see someone who could make Jillyanna show different expressions on her face. She approached them and sat beside Jillyanna on the couch.
"Uncle, this is my friend Cielo. Cielo, this is uncle Thomas." She introduced them to each other and Cielo reached out her hand to shake his.
"It's nice to meet you sweetie. Thank you for taking care of this willful child. You must have a hard time." Thomas stated which made Jillyanna pout her lips.
"Nice to meet you sir Thomas." Cielo responded before taking her hand back to her side.
"Just call me uncle Thomas like Yanna does." Thomas responded with a smile.
"I'm not willful. I didn't give them a hard time, too. I am a very good child." Jillyanna interjected like a very obedient child making them laugh.
"Whatever it is you say." Thomas laughed at her but he was truly happy that she's doing fine.
"Wait a minute. You said your son is working here in this place. Why didn't you tell me? I could conveniently beat him up for you." Jillyanna spoke while one of her hand was closed in a fist, punching her open palm.
"For that same reason. I didn't tell you because I don't want him beaten. Why are you so against him now? Before, you would always follow him around." Thomas commented which earned a 'tched' from Jillyanna.
"That was when I was a child. I didn't know he would grow up to be irresponsible." Jillyanna rolled her eyes while cursing Thomas' son mentally.
"He is not. Don't be so judgemental against him just because of what happened earlier." Thomas sighed knowing that it would be difficult to change her mind.
Cielo on the other hand was curious who was the son they were talking about. These past few days, she met different men that could change Jillyanna's mood and the one she hadn't met yet was Thomas' son.
"Fine. Fine. He is not. Whatever it is you say." Thomas laughed at her once again after hearing her say the words he said to her.
When his food was ready, he ate while Jillyanna talked to him about different things that she's been doing. She told him about her trip to Europe which happened two months ago and her recent visit to her mother's grave.
"By the way uncle, are you going to visit the cemetery? I can go with you." Jillyanna presented herself knowing that the man would go out alone once again. She can't let what happened earlier to be repeated.
"I am planning to go there tomorrow and yes, I'd be happy if you can come along." Thomas answered while taking a sip of the corn crab soup.
"I will pick you up tomorrow. Don't drive by yourself." Jillyanna reminded him which he agreed since she would be upset if he won't.
They talked a lot and Jillyanna spent her time with him at the cafe. When he left after their lunch together, Jillyanna helped Cielo with the accounting. She paid for their meal as well to make sure that the account won't be incorrect.
The day quickly pass and tomorrow came. Thomas and Jillyanna agreed that they would visit the cemetery at 10:00 o'clock in the morning.
At 9:30 in the morning, she arrived at the mansion that Thomas would use everytime he visits the city.
"Good morning young miss." the head servant greeted her. She had seen Jillyanna when she was young and she had seen her visit their Master every time he would come. You can say that she was very familiar with her already.
"Good morning Nanny Letty. Where's uncle?" Jillyanna asked while walking her way to the living room.
"He's still in the study room to settle something with the young master." Nanny Letty responded before helping her with a glass of orange juice.
"Oh? That's a surprise. He's home?" Jillyanna was itching to beat that bastard for leaving his father but Nanny Letty never thought that the young miss was actually planning to beat their young master.
"No, he is not. They are having a video call." Nanny Letty responded before going back to her work which was a disappointment to her.
Jillyanna looked around the place. It's been a while since she last visited the mansion. It's still the same as the one in her memory. The walls still have the large picture of Venus and Thomas. Their family picture was moved to Thomas' room. There was no picture of the aloof young master since he always hated cameras.
Jillyanna waited for a while until Thomas came down with scowl on his face. "What's the matter uncle? Is he really getting married? You don't like the woman?"
Thomas sighed heavily before facing her. "I don't really know what's on his mind. He said it's going to be a surprise and yes, he was really planning to get married. He would introduce me to the woman soon."
"Shouldn't you be happy for him?"
"How can I? I was planning to matchmake you with him." Thomas dropped a bomb that collapsed her world.
"Heh! Eeeehh?" Jillyanna was wide-eyed upon realizing his words. "Don't go that far uncle. It's not funny. I don't want to be in a relationship. There's even this guy who's pursuing me but I am pretty sure he'd give up after two months." Jillyanna murmured while picking up her bag from the couch.
"Why are you giving him two months?" Thomas questioned her since for him, love can't be measured with time.
"That's already the longest time I can give. Most men who tried pursuing me gave up within a month. Nobody reached two months. Am I not giving him a chance? I am so good, right?" Thomas knocked her forehead lightly for her nonsense.
"In any case, you don't have to marry him. I don't have to match make you as well since he found someone he likes." Thomas walked out of the house and Jillyanna was following him.
"Do you want to buy flowers and candles?" Jillyanna asked him after he took a seat and fasten his seatbelt.
"No need. The driver would send some for us later. Let's just go directly to the cemetery." Thomas answered her in which Jillyanna nodded her head.
She drove her car to the cemetery just right in time for the people who went out for few days to come back to the mansion.
Valkyrie sat down on the couch and closed his eyes for a while. Savannah placed her coat on the couch and sat as well with Hawk beside her.
Brown was standing while watching the floor, then the couch. "Nanny Letty?" he called out to the head servant.
"Yes sir. What's the matter?" Nanny Letty came out from the kitchen who was preparing food for them after receiving a message from Travis.
Brown looked at the house once again. He was very sensitive to scent and cleanliness of the house. Even if he's a doctor, who deals with blood and other things, he was very particular when it comes to cleanliness.
"Did someone come while we're out?" Brown asked Nanny Letty. Hawk and the others looked at the woman as well. They needed to be careful whoever made contact to the people inside the house.
"Yes. Master Thomas came yesterday and he left out this morning to visit the cemetery." Nanny Letty answered him.
"I see. Thank you Nanny." Brown responded with a smile but when the woman turned around, his smile vanished.
Hawk stood up and brought him to his room with Savannah and Valkyrie following them. "What is it?" Hawk asked Brown as soon as they got inside.
"Someone was here. It wasn't just Master Thomas. There's a different scent and the floor had marks of something pointed like a high heeled shoes." Brown stated with a serious face.
"We need to let the boss know. Do you think someone knew who we are and made contact with the residents here?" Valkyrie responded with worry.
"Let's not alert the boss yet. Let's put on some cameras when the servants are not around. I'm pretty sure that person would come back." Savannah suggested which everyone agreed.
After they ate their breakfast, when the servants had to go out for groceries, Valkyrie went out with them. Savannah worked on the trees and walls around the house. Brown and Hawk worked inside the house.
At the same time...
Jillyanna arrived at the cemetery with Thomas. She was wearing a huge hat and a dark glasses to cover her face from the sun's rays.
The driver that was sent to bring the flowers looked at her.
"Why are you looking at my little girl?" Thomas inquired which made the driver turned towards him.
"I'm sorry sir. I just thought she's familiar." The old driver scratched his head from embarrassment.
"Of course she's familiar." Then Thomas left him after getting the flowers.
'What did Master mean?' The driver tried thinking hard but he didn't really get his point. He left immediately after sending the flower.
Travis sent out two flowers since he knew his father would visit the other grave as well. If he was the one who sent the flowers that day, he could've seen her. The woman he's been looking for and the woman he's pursuing.
Jillyanna said her piece of gratitude and placed the flowers on her mother's grave.
"Mom, uncle Thomas and I are visiting you and Auntie Venus. And you know what, I was so pissed off with his son! How come he grew up to be so irresponsible? Yesterday, uncle almost had a heart attack because there was no one beside him. Am I being judgemental? Of course I am! I am admitting that. I just don't know what to feel. I can't even vent on him because I don't where he is. RV is just so unfair. Don't you think so?" Jillyanna was once again ranting on her mother's grave.
Thomas on the other hand was just standing in front of his wife's grave. He was speaking to her mentally. Men does that.
After an hour, they left the cemetery since Jillyanna still have to deal with her social media account. She needed to settle some matters.
She sent Thomas back to the mansion but she only dropped him off at the front gate. "Is it alright uncle? I'll have to decline your invitation for lunch. I still have to work." Jillyanna made a sad face while talking to the man beside her.
"Silly girl. It's fine. We can have lunch next time. Be careful on your way home." He rubbed her head which messed up her hair. In that moment, Travis' handsome face showed up in her brain.
Jillyanna smiled while waiting for Thomas to go down. 'What's wrong with my brain cells today? Are you guys hungry? I'll eat peanuts once I get home. Stop flashing me his face.' She was scolding herself for such trivial matter.
When Thomas got down, four people from the house, stretched their neck up and down, side to side, just to get a glance of the person sending the master.
"It's a woman! I knew it!" Brown stated with a straight face.
"Is Travis going to have a stepmom?" Savannah massaged her temple for that reckless thought.
"I think I've seen her somewhere?" Hawk mumbled while trying to think why the woman was familiar.
"Let's go back. He's coming." Valkyrie pulled them back to the living room as if nothing happened.
Thomas got inside the house and found the four of them sitting on the couch. Savannah was flipping through magazines. Hawk and Valkyrie were playing chess and Brown was playing with his phone.
"When did you guys arrive?" Thomas asked them like he was asking his own children. "You weren't here when I came home yesterday."
"We were sent out on a mission uncle." Savannah answered before standing up and giving Thomas a hug.
"Where's the driver? Why did you go out alone?" Hawk asked as if he was the guardian.
Thomas sighed and sat down beside Valkyrie. "You're nagging me just like her."
"Her? Who?" Brown immediately turned his attention towards Thomas.
"My supposed to be daughter-in-law. She was the one who sent me home. If you guys came back earlier, you could've met her. She's really pretty, nice, capable and kind. I wanted her for my son but that man was getting married." It was their turn now to be surprised with Thomas' answer.
"RV is getting married? Why didn't I know of this?" Valkyrie was stunned with the thought.
"Is that why he left the house?" Savannah asked but nobody can answer her.
"This is unbelievable! Who the hell is the girl? Is it the one he had a one-night stand?" Brown mumbled which had them turned their gaze at him.
Thomas was also horrified. "He had a one-night stand?! And he was even planning to marry?! This bastard! I'll make sure to cripple him!" he was so angry to death. Savannah helped him to calm down and brought a glass of water.
One problem led to another giving them a headache and the person involved was still at the company waiting for someone's message.
