Special - The 'Date'

This is a story that took place when Lady Amy was inside the little charming store, that sold her BL books.

As Lady Amy left, Prince Horus and Sir Windsor stared at each other, both being a bit uncomfortable. It felt like they had both gotten so used to getting caught up in Lady Amy's pace, that they couldn't quite figure out how to keep the delicate balance between childhood friends and a Prince and his Knight without Lady Amy to help them.

Sir Windsor tried talking, wondering how they ever had been capable at talking normally when it was just the two of them. Prince Horus seemed to want to say something at the exact same time, which lead both of them to silence, as Sir Windsor didn't want to interrupt a superior, and Prince Horus didn't have anything of actual interest to say, so he'd much rather not have to talk.

This went on a few times, until both of them sighed in defeat at the exact same time. This led them to look at each other, with a boyish smile forming on each of their faces.

A little chuckle escaped Sir Windsor's lips, with Prince Horus having gotten back his proper royal face.

"You don't have to wear that face out here" Sir Windsor said, laughing a bit as he saw the stiff look Prince Horus had forced on himself.

"Henry, this is simply a hypothesis, but have you maybe completely forgotten about our 'names'" Prince Horus said, amused at Sir Windsor's attempt to not include a name in the sentence, even though he would have used it normally. Prince Horus knew Sir Windsor well, after all.

"…Yes" Sir Windsor let out with a small embarrassed voice. He thought he had covered up well.

"You are Henry, I am Harold and my lovely fiancé is Henrietta" Prince Horus listed up, having fun in his own way. Sir Windsor tried repeating the names a few times, but somehow he couldn't call Amy by any other name than Amy, and he had an even harder time calling Prince Horus anything else than Horus or Prince.

"My Pr… Ha…. Uhm, Is it really necessary to use names in this situation at all, as we are only the two of us right now?" Sir Windsor asked, his voice got more and more awkward as he didn't know what exactly to say. It felt directly wrong to him, almost illegal, to call the prince anything else.

"…I suppose you have a point…" Prince Horus said, a bit dejected. He simply wanted to be called by name, and not by title by Sir Windsor. Even if it was the wrong one. But of course he would never admit to this.

"When do you think she will be back?" Sir Windsor asked, feeling a weird tug in him as the awkward silence grew larger around them. Ever since his time in isolation, he had a hard time communicating properly with Prince Horus. It went fine as long as it was something official, but whenever it got to something private or personal, not including Lady Amy, he was at a loss for words. Not that words had ever been his strong suit, but it had definitely gotten even worse. This was very weird to him, as he thought the time he had spend with Lady Amy had made him more talkative.

"I do not even feel like guessing when it is about her…" Prince Horus said with a sigh, thinking about countless of things that could go wrong when she was alone. He had been worried for a while now, but couldn't figure out if it did take a long time, or if he was simply feeling like it took a long time.

Ever since Lady Amy clearly had accepted him as he was, and ever since she hinted at knowing his secret, Prince Horus had been finding himself more and more accepting of himself. The only other person that had known for sure and still accepted him was his mother, and ever since she died, he had been in constant turmoil about if he was fine as he was, or if he really was an outcast.

These feelings tended to get thrown away as he dedicated himself to work. Which is why he never quite dealt with his feelings, simply because he had something else he could do whenever they crept in on him.

However, here he was, alone, with Sir Windsor. Almost feeling the awkwardness seeping out from his knight he had known for a long time.

Ever since Lady Amy had come into their lives, something had changed. First Prince Horus simply thought it was because they had caught some of her weirdness, but lately it felt like more than that. And now she went and pulled a stunt such as this.

"Sadly, I think that is a wise answer" Sir Windsor nodded along after thinking greatly about this profound conversation.

"I never imagined we would end up like this…" Prince Horus said as a kind of afterthought, while trying to think things through a bit.

"I always thought you would make a nice couple" Sir Windsor said, feeling his voice coming out strange, bringing along the same feeling of sickness he had felt before, thinking that Prince Horus was talking about Lady Amy and himself.

"Huh?" Prince Horus was instantly pulled out of his slight daze as he turned and stared directly into the eyes of Sir Windsor.

"Huh?" Sir Windsor was confused as well, as he wasn't really sure about what he had heard, what he had answered, and what was going on now. Had he done something wrong? He did feel sick, so maybe that was something that affected him a bit.

"No I mean, Amy and I –" Prince Horus sighed deeply, trying to breathe. What was he doing right now? First he made a careless mistake about using her real name, and the contents in the sentence was almost as if he tried to defend himself from something. But from what?

"Oh, look!" Sir Windsor tried changing the subject pointing over to the window in which Lady Amy stood in, almost looking like she was drooling.

"She seems to be quite taken by those books…" Prince Horus acknowledged as the change of topic was helpful in the two of them managing their dense pieces of mind.

"Did you notice how she often says a lot of weird words?" Prince Horus asked as he got reminded of a lot of conversations that had taken quite some weird outcomes.

"Yes! I tend to just nod along as if to not embarrass her" Sir Windsor admits a bit shyly. How can this big of a man look so cute when being shy? Prince Horus gulps as he nods.

"A wise choice indeed. It is better to have the servants think they are the ones that do not know a word, rather than Lady Amy being seen as illiterate" Prince Horus nods.

The two of them shares a few of the funny words they have heard, and suddenly, even without Lady Amy being there, the pace she normally pulls forward with, was laying around the two of them.

They continued the fun conversation until she got back.
