A wave of sickening weakness washed over me, and the Luminara dimmed in my grasp, the light snuffed out like a dying ember. I felt my body go limp, the fight draining out of me as though she had stolen it.

"What… what did you do to me?" I mustered the energy to ask. Even though I know I should've used it on other more important things.

Levina's smile turned sickly sweet, her claws brushing my cheek. "I made sure you'll be saving your energy," she said mockingly, her tone almost motherly. "After all, we'll have plenty of time together, dear Xianne."

What could she possibly need from me? I rolled my eyes, talking about saving energy. Have I been doing that since I found out about my blight?

She turned her head slightly as if she had thought of something. Then, with a wave of her hand, she opened a swirling black portal beside us.
