Chapter 38: Killing the Khapex Elites
Draugar appeared when a person dies and he or she has something valuable to them that they didn't want anyone to get it, The Draugar is an undead that guards the person's grave until it is destroyed.
The barrier that appeared when the draugar bloodline is taken is a restriction created by the gods that the Tirtas cannot kill what is already dead so the barrier is an act of protection to those who want to bend the natural law.
The ritual to summon The Tirtas is a secret skill that no one has ever found for thousands of years so Reeve is lucky and unlucky at the same time, He is lucky enough to get it the ritual technique and he is unlucky to meet an undead bloodline who is the natural counter to Tirtas. The Titas cannot break the barrier because it is not a god-level being so it has to obey the law.
The Tirtas slowly fades away leaving no trace of it being summoned here, The fading Tirtas is the sign of Reeve's destruction.
Zed cough out a mouthful of blood because during the process of the Tirtas ritual, His Doppelganger bloodline is damaged as well but shielded by the draugar bloodline if not maybe the doppelganger bloodline will be erased from Zed's body and destroying half of Zed's body in the process.
Zed walks slowly while dragging his spear, The sound of the spear being dragged brings imminent fear to Reeve.
"Get away from me! Don't come any closer you freak!" Reeve crawl back slowly while looking at Zed's blue eyes that seem scarier than ever.
Zed arrived in front of Reeve and said, "Freak? I'm more of a Monster than a Freak" with a spooky smile Zed thrust his spear to Reeve's chest.
Reeve can only stand there helplessly looking at Zed's spear that's about to pierce him, Finally, he died with an aghast expression on his face, One cannot imagine what scary thing that Reeve meet before he died just by judging by his expression.
Vical and Owin are surprised too by the sudden turn of events, they thought that they will be erased by that thing that just came out of the ritual but Zed's bloodline saved them. Vical and Owin have even more respect to Zed before they only respect Zed as a fellow elites but now they respect Zed as a precious comrade of war.
The medium build man realized his disadvantage after the death of his senior, He runs limply to try and desperately make it out alive but that's just a hopeful thought.
The medium build man runs for his life towards the Dierge Caldera Valley, he didn't even look back to see if Zed's team is after him but he can feel something is watching him from the back.
He glanced at his back, The scene on his back is the scariest thing he has ever seen in his life he even peed himself after seeing the scene on his back.
On his back, Green Smoke is enveloping its surroundings and it is following closely behind him.
two pair of red and blue eyes are looking at him from the green smoke, It's like death itself was looking at him from the back signing as his life cannot be saved anymore.
The green smoke surrounds the medium build man, He stops on his track scared for his life. He looks scaredly to his surrounding trying to locate Zed and Vical but to no avail because the green smoke is so thick.
When suddenly, a claw envelope in dark aura and a spear slashed at him simultaneously from two sides. The medium build man's head is cut off from its body and the body is split into two, the medium build man didn't even know how he died because of the quick succession of the two attacks.
"HAHAHA, That's one hell of a battle. Our team chemistry should have risen because of that fight" said Owin cheerfully.
"Yep that's a good chemistry building session, Let's see the mountain then. The mist is probably their trap into making our soldier lower their guard, Thankfully it just has been set up so it's not that prominent" replied Zed.
As Zed said that, the team agreed and goes back to the Bronze Rift Mountain.
Arriving there, they immediately notice the mist grows thicker and also a formation on the foot of the mountain.
On the formation, ten hooded figures are chanting their spell endlessly. Zed's team didn't sit still and massacre them all.
The hooded people didn't even react to Zed's team killing them and simply chant their spells and they have no sense of pain because each and every one of them didn't utter a scream after getting stabbed.
After killing the hooded people Zed is confused, The formation is still on and the mist didn't dissipate.
Vical tried to ruin the formation but even though it is ruined the mist is still there and not dissipating, Finally, they can't think of anything and asked the captains about the situation using communication equipment.
"Captain, there is some kind of formation that produces a mist that can make us feel drowsy and lower our guards like a drunken man. We tried to destroy the formation but it didn't dissipate, What should we do?" asked Zed through the communication equipment to the captain.
The communication equipment is crystal-like equipment that is made by Mindtin Crystal that can be used for a distance of one hundred kilometers.
"That formation is probably a level three formation, It cannot be destroyed by just ruining the formation but you have to find a predatory beast that has the same frevor element as the formation is producing. The mist is a wind element so you have to find wind element predatory beast" answered the captain in a detailed manner.
"Okay, Where the hell will we find a wind element predatory beast! even a wind wild beast is not in his habitat" said Vical pissed about the matter.
"Based on the stories I heard, there is a powerful beast on top of the mountain let's start by searching there," said Owin while he started to climb the Bronze Rift Mountain.
Zed and Vical look at each other and shrug their shoulder and started to climb the mountain.
Bronze Rift Mountain is one of the tallest mountains in the Advarus Empire that has a five-kilometer height, It is the place to mine Bronze that is one of the Jestin City and Ulbus City main trading in minerals. Bronze Rift Mountain has a rigged and steep surface making it hard to climb for a normal fighter.
Covering five kilometers is easier than climbing through the Bronze Rift Mountain nonetheless, it is pretty easy for Zed's team.
After two kilometers of climbing, they feel huge pressure from something above them.
Zed's team looks up to see where the pressure is coming from, on the right side of their seeing field there is a blue-furred eagle that looks big even from afar looking at them. The blue-furred eagle has a suffocating aura that held Zed's team back.
Scree!!
The blue-furred eagle screech telling to back off of its territory, The screech is so loud that Vical lost his grip and fall down before caught by Zed just below him.
"Thanks man that's one hell of a bird," said Vical while getting his grip back.
"Let's not enter its territory, It is a water element beast we don't need it," said Zed to the team.
As they crawl sideways, the blue-furred eagle spread its wings to look menacing and fly down to Zed's direction like a jet.
"What the.." Zed is surprised because of the eagle's act, they just avoid its territory but why did the eagle still attack them.
